The good: -Most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. -The onsite bar was a nice convenience. -Location was great as well. It wasn't in the heart of the gas lamp but a good, walking distance away for someone that doesn't want to hear or be a part of that craziness their entire stay. -The restaurant providing breakfast was very busy but they worked fast and hard to get everyone what they needed. The bad: -The room we received was the view we had paid for and requested but the curtain didn't close all the way. We didn't realize the large gap until 5am when the sun was shining in our eyes and we were stumbling to try to get it to close and/ or stay shut. -I called the front desk to ask about either fixing the curtain or to be moved if it couldn't be fixed and was met with a huge attitude and being interrupted several times while I was trying to explain. -The rooms/ bathrooms are dated. They could use a major refresh. -Because of the close proximity of the doors towards the end of the hallways, you can hear the neighbor room doors opening and slamming constantly. The room we were in had a loud group next door so not only did we hear them slamming in and out constantly, it was well into the early morning hours. -The elevators have an odor issue. -They have opted to stop providing the small toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, etc. Which is fine if you remembered to bring everything but they replaced them with full size items in the shower. They are stuck to the wall. It would be perfect if they were kept full. Ours ran out 2 days into our 5 day stay. Seems they should be topping it off after every guest leaves. -We were provided 3 drink vouchers which is a great gesture but when we tried to use them, we were told that they weren't really good for much. I think it was for soda and one type of wine. Which again, its a nice gesture but why do it if they won't really cover anything at all? Overall the place is fine if you have no other choice. This was our second time choosing this hotel and have decided that we will not be returning due to the overall disappointing stay.

We were there for the San Diego Rock n Roll event. The hotel is dated. There were small chips on the door and other signs of room useage and age. Shower had glass that only covered half the shower which was odd. Water would inevitably cover the bathroom floor regardless of care during the shower. TV is not a smart TV which seems to be the standard today. We did not use the facilities. Valet parking staff was friendly and helpful. Word of note. Valet parking was $56 a day and there was a $25 added fee. San Diego is a popular summer destination. We have only stayed at a few hotels in the area. It may be that the Westin is better than other properties in the area.

I give them 5-stars for EFFORT. Due to the pandemic, I think they are quite short-staffed. The front desk for check-in was friendly. The rooms are clean and standard 4-star business grade. Would have been nice to offer 2 bottles of water not just 1. The enhanced high-speed Internet for Marriott Bonvoy was cancelled so only slow Internet available. Very good location close to Seaport Village without being overwhelming. 7-11 is a block away. Little Italy is walking distance. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Not really kid friendly, more geared toward that traveling professional. Nonetheless, my 4yr old had fun here. Front staff was nice and friendly, as were their security. Lobby was nice and spacious. My daughter enjoyed going to the second level and watching everyone from above. Our room was basic, yet comfortable and suited our needs. Bathroom was small, but its not like we hung out in there. We really enjoyed the hotel restaurant/bar, and so did a lot of other travelers. It got busy later than I expected, like around 9pm. Keep that in mind if you get hungry and decided to order here. From observation, it looks like it took awhile for the food to come out, but everyone did show up at almost the same time. The chocolate cake was okay if you are craving something sweet. Of course there are restaurants close by, if you are looking for other fare. Overall, a nice place to stay if you're in the downtown area.

Higher floors are best. Sit in the window cubby and stare down 23 stories
I would suggest calling the hotel. Being able to provide a receipt you paid in cash will probably be needed to get any charges refunded.
18 or older and have your reservation confirmation. Also you need to have a credit card for reservations and also no cash its all card.
This is not me
Yes
If you can leave your luggage at the hotel before the time of registration. Cost I do not know but surely a minimum tip.
No it is resolved. No protesters.
No one has in and out privileges in Downtown San Diego. There is street parking, with meters, and Horton Plaza is adjacent to the Hotel.
Parking is $25/30 per day across the street from the hotel, but that is only if you leave your car there the whole day.. otherwise you will pay each time you come/go from the structure. The Westin charges $49 per day to park in the same public garage but includes in/out privilege, so no additional charge to take your car out and come back. If you plan on leaving your car in the garage during your stay, park it yourself and save $25 per day.
