I visited this state park in August of 2020. The trails were a mix of tree-covered and more of a prairie. Although the observation tower was closed, I was able to check on the landscape view from a scenic rock ledge. I did not camp here. Judging from what I could see of the sites from the trails they looked like your average tent/camper spaces. They may be a bit close together for my preference, but that’s me. I would definitely go back for another hike!

This park has great views from the trails on top of the escarpment. There are also some interesting historical sites along many of the trails. Easy to moderate trails that include some elevation changes. Should be included an any must see list of Wisconsin state parks.

One of my favorite camping spots close to the Fox Valley. It is also perfect for the little day trip to escape city life. The limestone ruins are a favorite as is the Butterfly trail. It's a great spot to see deer! Yesterday, upon leaving at dusk, there were nearly 30 deer scattered across the golf course and along the road side - the most I have ever seen at a time!

This place is a gem to visit. The paths are super fun with lots of interesting things to see along the way. Cool Little Creek‘s. Old abandoned buildings. Some of the trails will require some skill to get through.

There are Native American burial mounds that you can walk amongst. They're as haunted as you want them to be.
Yes, they are pet friendly, but have some basic common sense rules that you must abide by so that pets do not disturb other campers. They provide that if you call them or once you get there and check in they give you a pet agreement of rules. Basically, clean up after them, do not leave them alone at campsite for more than 20 mins, keep them from excessively barking at night, etc... Awesome park, great beach area, trails, etc. **PETS ARE NOT allowed at beach area, though everyone is pretty relaxed there including the management unless someone complains. We take our dog on the kayaks and that is ok, Have fun!
Public beach area, good place as long as the lake isnt too full of algae
At the Beach Pavilion there are Showers, Changing rooms and Restrooms. The Camp grounds also have very well keep Showers.
I hang my hammock up here all the time. As far as fires, I think that's only for the campgrounds for safety reasons.
I would definitely ask at the entrance areas as the rangers who keep the area clean and safe would be the only ones with the correct answer.
