Beautiful park, with beach and plenty of walking trails. Great for birdwatching and camping

Beautiful, quiet and clean. On my 4 Mile Walk a great horned owl swooped in on me out of no where the sun was setting and I could hear the creepy cackling coyotes. It's a nice mellow state campground they offer lots of sites wooded and not. Large and small. Lots of hiking trails and nature activities for young and old. There is a cute little beach now a store. Check this place out and prepare to relax.

We just moved to the area from Milwaukee and couldn't imagine a cooler outdoor space only being ten minutes away. I don't know about the camping, living so close, but the activities available are perfect for our family. It has great activities for kids. We bike ride, hike, ride dirt bikes and fly RC planes! And all of that for just the price of a State Park pass. Our three year old is just about ready to hit the trails!

Cool park situated between Kenosha and Burlington. The campground was very clean, had electricity and water pumps and both flush / pit toilets were available. The one park employee I dealt with upon my arrival was friendly and helpful. Now don't expect dramatic scenery like you would see at Devil's Lake, but for being an hour from Chicago, we had a fun time camping here for the weekend. I highly recommend the hiking trail around Wolf Lake!

only very literally. not euphemistically or legally yet.
Yes. Rules say leashed. In winter there are very few people visiting. My dog is allowed off leash when I'm there alone. She stays close and comes when called.
I know you can dirt bike, but honestly I just went camping with little kids. So didn't get to see much. It's beautiful there though.
They do have two hand pumps with potable water. It might not be available yet if they haven't dewinterized. I recommend calling to make sure (although I believe they have at least one available all year round).
No. This park requires either annual or day pass year round. Check with the website. Hunting seasons are on going at this time of year and some hours are restricted access for everyone's safety. Enjoy!
You can camp according to their rules. If you mean set up your own shelter etc. and pay for the site, yeah.
Yes. You'll need a license which you can purchase online.
