Great trailhead with clean restrooms. Excellent for hiking and biking, much less crowded than the lot on the North side at Apache Wash.

Great trailhead! The parking and other facilities are very nice. Great horse trailer parking. Lots of room to park and turn around. The trail does get a bit rocky and lots of small and larger up and down hill areas. Something to keep in mind for horses with sensitive feet or hikers looking for a smoother/easier trail. Highly recommend! Especially right now with the abundance of wildflowers.

Yes, but a lot of foot traffic and mountain biking. Very narrow trails.
Yes! Best time of day to hike in my opinion is first thing in the morning. Get there early, about an hour before sunrise right as its starting to get light out and hit the trail. Sunrise from the top of a hill in the desert is brilliant. Just keep an eye out for snoozing rattlesnakes as they'll be out at this time too lurking for the early riser rodent meel
No you may not fly drones in the preserves. It is also posted as you enter the parking area..
