Absolutely an amazing hike! The views at the top were worth every step. This is a difficult trail, especially if you're not used to hiking in rocky terrain. Do not be fooled by the locals running up & down the mountain in tennis shoes; hiking boots or shoes with an aggressive tread are a must! Also, everybody on the trail was very encouraging & courteous, looking forward to hiking here again!

Very difficult hike, one must be very careful as rocks can be slippery and i have seen several people slip and hurt their legs/knees. Its has very nice views and the exercise is great.

Great way to ring in the New Year! First time hiking Camelback and what a beautiful hike it is. Great view of the entire Valley. Not a difficult hike but you do have to be careful as it is not a walk in the park.

Very difficult "climb" for the top half, not a "hike." Not for beginners or untrained children. I'm a seasoned backpacker from WA and I've been on some technical climbs that didn't involve safety lines and this was up there with somewhat dangerious for people without sure footing. Not a too hard of a climb when when it comes to stamina, but it will zap you if you aren't prepared. We did it in December and it was only in the 60's/70's. That day there were 2 separate emergency rescues for people who fell and cracked the heads open. That all said, it was an epic climb with amazing views and hundreds of people on the trail.

No, wear gloves for the supporting rails (polls)
Yes it's open from sunrise to sunset be sure bring lots of water it's incredibly hot here
If it is rainy, I wouldnt recommend for your first time.
Mike is correct, early start early finish. Take plenty of water as dehydration is very misleading in low humidity are as Arizona
October-November 6A-9A is beautiful and comfortable temperature. I hike both mornings evenings, evenings usually 3.30-4 you can make to the summit and back.
