The receptionist was nice and polite, and the exterior of my car looked good. However my car, on getting in, smelled like cigarette and probably weed.. I checked the other car nearby as an alternative, and it smelled the same way. Its the worst car rental I've ever had, to be frank, and it is apalling that they don't check the condition of these cars. Update: I reached to Hertz customer care and told them about it, I was asked to bring the car in for an exchange, and the receptionist was very kind to ensure he gave me a clean car with very low mileage, as well as acknowledging how unwanted a smoke smelling car would be. Very good service response from staff on other ends.

When picking up our car it had trash shoved in every crevice, a big white spill of some sort on one seat and a sticky substance all over the vehicle like a soda exploded or something along with food we had to scrape off. The woman in the garage booth was absolutely no help and said all she was able to offer was an upgrade that would cost us $999 daily! After being told from an online representative that we could get a new vehicle we were told it wasn’t going to happen. A different location offered to clean and sanitize the vehicle but it’s a time consuming process and we just didn’t have the time. I will most likely not rent from hertz again. You would think being a gold member would get some kind of assistance but all we got was disappointment. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the gentleman who checked us in was extremely nice

We got upgraded to the new SS Camaro I got it up to 106 mph in about 3 seconds. We got to anywhere we wanted in San Diego in like 5 minutes without getting a speeding ticket lol. I would definitely rent a car through Hertz airport again they were very helpful in accommodating.

The gentleman who helped me out was very friendly and helpful. The convertible I got was a blast and it was competitively priced. I will definitely come back.

Yes you can ..best way is to book online weeks in advance...so u can have a lower 1 way fee..non reservations will be alot higher of a price than online
Call whoever you booked through and change the name
Change the name with the people you booked through or make a reservation in their name
Yes
Yes, simply follow the signs for return. Park your vehicle and leave the keys in it. The office isn't open, but there is usually an individual scanning vehicles in and making sure the area is secure.
When I reserved online my estimate was approximately $265 and it ended up being $294 with other taxes and fees. The price quoted for the additional options also fluctuated a few dollars when I went for pick up. I am not certain about the surcharge for being younger than 25yo but I believe the online booking option has a checkbox to select if you are younger than 25 which, i assume, should allow that factor to be included in your estimate. The taxes and other fees will likely vary by state and other circumstances, i.e. the car being returned to another state may generate a fee.
$360 for 2 days deposit

Yeah- u can exchange for free. Hertz is actually very accommodating.
Every few minutes
Yes I do. I have been renting from Hertz SAN for almost 9 years. Not one single issue. Hope that helps.
It's the Airport location, so they are fully stocked w/ vehicles. They had me in & out in less than 20 mins!
Go to www.hertz.com for rates. The additional cost of insurance for Mexico is approximately $100 for your entire rental period.
Give them a call
Definitely where you dropped it off, lost and found good luck.
Drop off in San Diego at the sirport and very near the airport. Don't wory.
Yes
You will want to call the rental location and tell them that. Not sure if this is the place you would want to post that kind of private information. This is a public forum not associated with Hertz.
Yes
I dont think they will accept that, but ask the Hertz representative.
Yes, take the car rental shuttle for all companies
I think they do but for platinum customers.
Theres a regular free bus to the airport. Not sure how frequent but we didnt have to wait long at all.
For most rental car agencies, you have to negotiate where your return location will be BEFOREHAND. You should call the rental agency to see if additional charges will be applied.
Any car in the presidents circle area or the five star area, but not any of the reserved cars (already assigned to specific people) and not the premium upgrade cars.
You have to provide proof you're flying out of that airport also.
It did not take long at all. You Pull It in they look it over you've already paid for it and we were out of there probably 10 minutes or less
If you're a Hertz gold member, you can pull up, hand over the keys, sign paperwork where you've stopped the car, and go straight to the shuttle. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete that process.
Yes, there is!
At the Hertz hub station. They make it smooth and easy.
Dear Miss White, Yes, during peak hours the shuttle buses run every 5 minutes. However, since the location is 24 hours (Hertz & Dollar/Thrifty) there is bus service all night, they typically run every 20-30 minutes after midnight until about 6 a.m.
I would call them ASAP. I would be very surprised if they were not open. But you should definitely talk to them before arriving for first time.
It's not at the actual airport. You take a shuttle to the rental car hub where the service is quick and easy.
Generally it doesn't matter if you're a little late.
Just call customer service and let them know you have to extend your rental
Eric's answer is on the spot. I took out the extra basic CWD insurance ever though my credit card would take care of any issues. I personally don't want a claim on my personal auto insurance, for they would surely go up on the rate. I got burned once by a car rental place when I had a blowout and the CDW did not cover the replacement tire.
