The Madison Theatre is an awesome local business. It's unique as a movie theater because you get to experience being at a restaurant at the same time as you're watching a movie. Or you could just come for the food or one of the fun activity nights like Karaoke Thursdays or Comedy night.

I had a first time theater experience recently at The Madison Theater, waitress service IN the theater! I bought my ticket and they handed me a menu; I could order what I wanted right from my seat and it would be brought to me. There are clean counters in front of the seats to set your snacks on. There is also a full bar out in the lobby with tables and chairs. There was no pressure to do anything. In fact, you can also buy your snacks at a lovely next door bakery and cafe and bring them in with you, if you prefer. We saw Downton Abbey in a nearly empty theater but we had a great, 5-star experience at The Madison Theater. Definitely going back!

Had a great time. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday on Karaoke night. Will have to make another trip up there soon. Love the lounge and drink selections

Kris at this theater worked with me to beautifully organize a private showing for a group of high school students. He was flexible and responsive to all of our needs. The kids absolutely loved it and I will definitely be working with him in the future for more field trip events!

No. You don't need reservation or pre purchase tickets. Like Josh said. You can purchase tickets at the theatre or on our website. The theatre also has a great restaurant & bar. Come early and have lunch, dinner, or a drink before the movie starts. You can also bring your meal and any drink into the theatre!!

Tierra Farm it's stocking shelves and I've seen light in the lobby of the theater at night so I'd hope soon but have seen no new news items nor announcements.
There is only street parking. If you want you could park in price choppers parking lot. But there isn't many options.

There was an article in the Times Union newspaper in December saying that they were expecting a January opening. I live around the corner and do not see any external progress though the Tierra farms outlet appears to be ready to open. Apparently some items internally need to be completed and that is expected to be done shortly.
You should call the ticket office. They might have a recorded message. Of not I would contact Groupon and state that they will expire but the theater is closed.
Its closed for renovations. You could check the for clarification.
Their website is updated well, and will generally let you know the schedule for the next few weeks.
Saturday 'family matinee' and Sunday 'classic matinee' are 35 cents!
