Courteous, knowledgeable evaluation of the coins I presented. Purchased on the spot. ID required by law.

For someone like myself who has no experience in selling gold coins or uncirculated sheets of currency, I feel that Bill was extremely fair and provided me the best price I could have realized. Bill even knew my maternal grandfather who was the person responsible for leaving the family these few precious gold coins and sheets of $1, $2 and $5 bills that were decades old. I highly recommend working with Bill, even if all you are looking for is to get fair values for items your family's had in its possession for years. After all, is just 'stuff', much of which most of us don't really understand. You might be surprised how much 'value' is hidden within those old family items. Bill will certainly help you realize the highest values around the Capital District and beyond...I'm certain of that! After having visited Bill previously, I ventured back to see him to sell the rest of my grandfather's old miscellaneous 'lessor valued' coins and collectibles. To name a few of the items I sold to Bill were (1) "GSA CC" silver dollars, (2) partial sets of Lincoln cents, (3) Walking Liberty Half Dollars, (4) WWII silver nickels, (5) Kennedy bronze Inaugural Medals and (6) various other common pennies, Canadian nickels and Indian cents. While no one item was valued at what I would categorize as significant, in total all the stuff added up. Bill went through my piles very carefully and took the time to explain why certain pieces were more valuable than others. 90 minutes later, I walked out with a surprisingly nice check and the feeling that all the stuff hanging around the house for all those years still had some value to someone. Bottom line, don't throw anything out! Visit Bill to find out just how valuable some of your stuff might be. If anything, you'll enjoy yourself. I know I did.

We used Mr Panitch to appraise a small amount of paper currency. He was 100% fair. I had already gotten offers from coin dealers. Mr Panitch was right on. I felt confident asking for a fair amount. Will use him again

Good morning – We handle almost everything back to the 15th century, but we don't deal in ancient Roman or Greek coins. I’d be happy to refer you to some qualified folks who do. But – they’re not going to be able to make an offer without seeing the coin in-hand –or possibly seeing some high-quality photos. Let me know if you’d like some names. Or – it’s possible that I can refer you to someone in your area. Where do you live? Thank you for your email, Bill Panitch

Greetings! Values can vary according to date, mint mark, die variety and condition. Some gold coins indeed do trade at a price based only on their gold value. Others are worth far, far more. I'm always happy to look. There's no charge and no obligation to sell anything. Please call or email if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment.

We don't handle collector supplies such as coin albums - but if you're in Albany, try Ferris Coin on Wolf Road or Olde Saratoga Coin on Central Ave. Or, contact me for Internet sources. Thanks for asking, Bill Panitch

Greetings... Of the many hundred different known varieties of California fractional gold pieces, only three 50c varieties are known with an 1858 date (and those three are believed to have been produced in the 20th century.) That said, if yours is a genuine example of one of the three known varieties, it can still be quite valuable. Condition of course, is a huge factor. Unfortunately, many different kinds of facsimile California fractional gold tokens are also known to exist. We're always happy to look. There's no charge and no obligation to sell anything. Please call or email if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment. Thank you for your question!!
