If I could give negative -100 stars I would. This place is the worst. If you’re thinking about staying here, save your money and sleep on the side of the road. There is zero water pressure, the water even completely stopped working several times, the power went out multiple times, the laundry facilities can’t even be used unless you go to the office and get some special card to activate the machines. Horrible horrible horrible place to stay. Most of the long term “residents” treat this place like their dog’s personal toilet. They’re worse than the travelers. No one that works here ever has the slightest clue what is going on. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid this place like the plague.

The people and the place here at Soledad Canyon are great, but I’m writing this because the campers should know ahead of time that: The laundry machines take a special Card that you buy for $5 or you can use an app on your cellphone, if your service provider works there. The Card machine is in the lobby and only accepts $5 bills. The Card itself costs $5. Then you’ll need to add another $5 to that Card to do your laundry, so that would now be $10. I was told that Card cannot be used at any other Thousand Trails campgrounds. After learning it would cost me $10 to do one load, I no longer wanted that Card and wanted my money back, but now I was suppose to call the corporate office from the phone number on the Card and then wait 3+ weeks for corporate to mail me a check. Beth eventually and kindly gave me my $5 cash back. As a hard of hearing, senior camper, I should have the right to make an informed decision beforehand and not have to rely solely on verbal information. The problem: There were no signs posted nor information in writing anywhere regarding the laundry room Card prices and requirements that should have been clearly posted, at least right by the Card machine, especially since I was told there have been lots of other complaints, The solution: Simple signs by the Card machine and Laundry rooms.

Overall it's a good vibe, nice camping experience. We have been there 3 times in total in the cabins. The water heater has little hot water for a place of 6 people. Everything else seems fine. Mini golf needs a lot of work. Even just some brushing up. They are putting a lot of money into the campsite so expect it to get better in the next months or year.

Good sized sites with picnic tables and grills, some with water and electric. Dump station available. Water had a terrible smell. No swimming including dogs. $48 per night, plus a $2 dog surcharge. Beautiful though.

Yes the pool is open but only 10 people can be in there at one time. If over 10 people they will shut it down
Yes it does
Bet Susan is a real joy of a grandmother, obviously forgot she was a child once
I forgot but it's real real nice my kids had a blast
Do you happen to know if that is extra if we have a cabin or what the cost is for the tent
When I was there we had 3 people to our rc site...there were families of 5 or more with much bigger RVs and tents...I don't know exactly what the limit is per site but it could vary as far as time of year as well as how busy they are at when you book with them.
If you're looking for long term stay at thousand trails I suggest getting a membership. Talk to Judy.
This is not the company site. Maybe just call the office.
We saw a coyote a couple days ago. It's not a terrible campground. I don't know what's wrong with that person. It's comfortable, and the people there are great.
Some locations have 120VAC both 20 and 30 amp outlets. Some places have 50 amp outlets. You may need adapters depending on your plug. Adapters available at Wal-Mart.
Members get day use
Yes
Actually victor valle is wrong. A “camping pass” is 14 days and a “membership” is 21 days and if you were lucky, there was a 28 day membership. You still have to be out for a week with any pass/membership but with a membership you can go park to park and not be out of the system.
Pools are cold water, HOT TUBS are at about 102° Pools are open over winter months.
The campsites are first come first serve. Be sure to check the power at each site. Some have been removed and they are in the process of doing electrical work.
WhenI was there it was closed
This place has a lot of deferred maintenance. It needs TLC! It's sad road is crumbling no walking paths. Staff speeds through but there are posted speed limit signs they ignore. Trailers left unattended days on end. They print rules but if staff doesn't care why would the people visiting care?
From 8am till sun down
Yes!! 😁
Yes they have campsites where you can put up to 2 tents per campsite and the have electrical outlets and water on some sites as well.
No
Yes you need to be a member unless you know someone that has a membership you can get a pass for a day.
Yes, I just went this past week and one needs a pass to get in. Not to mention they have people working inside the office, so "if" for some reason or another you were to feel unsafe then all you'd need to do is make them aware of.the situation. :)
Yes they do have sites for large trailers and fifth wheels. If you can call them. But yes
No if your looking for that I would go to Kernville its really nice
The kid pool was open my last trip they were working in the adult pool no fishing or rafting small country store and they do movies outside arts and crafts for the kids and they had a sip and paint for adults
Not at this time
Only the one for adults, but they are letting kids go in. Also, you are supposed to stay in only for 30 minutes, if there are people waiting to get in. There are only 10 persons permitted at one time.
It's not open, maybe in August
Yes, you can do it It all depends on how long you decide to stay
Go onto the website and call the reservation line.
No the pools are not open. Under construction
There are "dirt camping" spaces where you can pitch a tent. There are electrical outlets and water bins at the sites however and you are a walk away from showers, laundry and a lounge.
Yes they do 3 tents per campsite.
The members only park is now open to the public. If you like your property dont stay there. There is a class acton law suit against tt by members. Think twice before staying there....
The park is open, but two large sections are currently closed, almost 400 sites in total, and there's no real time frame set for a reopening of either of the sections. So space is sparce and good sites are difficult to come by. I also agree with Andy, electric is somewhat unreliable, and we constantly receive low AC alerts on our panel in many of the the 30 amp sites. We've lost a microwave and an air conditioning unit due to this ongoing problem. Just be sure to keep an eagle-eye on your panel display. Otherwise, staff is super nice, the park just needs better management and some serious redevelopment.
Not too sure. Ask what happened to Rudy at the store of the office.
Even with a membership, you're not allowed to stay in the "resort" for longer than 21 days. I stay here pretty much full-time. I haven't noticed any sketchy people that "roam around at night", but it is a very big place, so it is possible. Ultimately, I think that it depends on why you're asking. I'm a full-time RVer and so although Soledad Canyon (where I usually stay) is not perfect, but it is adequate. Ask about options other than memberships. I didn't know of other options they offered until I'd already joined.
Where is the flat grassy areas?? They won't pay to water them... when the water is working.
This park is poorly managed. My vehicle was damaged by rodents eating the wiring under the hood... $5000.00 in damage they will not help! A month ago a shootout 20 ft from my RV between the police & bums who hang around the park and steal campers belongings. The electricity is ruining the appliance's in my vehicle because there is too many problems & they don't care to fix anything here. The bridge to go to the facilities here has been washed out for over a year so you have to leave the park & take side streets to get the the pools. Poor activity schedule... you really want to go there?
They DID NOT instal all new 50amp power poles, there are continual power issues in B section. Its a nightmare. I was just told I will likely be without power for the remainder of my stay, another week.
There are 3 ways to get to the resort. 1) From Hwy 14 drive so on Crown Valley Road. You come to a 4 way stop at the intersection of Crown Valley and Soledad Canyon Roads. If you go straight you will be on Crown Valley Rd. Follow Crown Valley through the railroad tunnel and it will be on the left. 2) At the intersection of Crown Valley and Soledad Canyon Roads turn right onto Soledad Canyon. Continue to intersection of Crown Valley on the left then a little further on Crown Valley to campground on the right. 3) From Hwy 14 you can take Soledad Canyon Rd. heading east. This is shorter and maybe quicker but it is a winding road. You will go past several campgrounds including KOA. Continue until intersection with Crown Valley Rd. Turn right and shortly after turn right into campground.
nothing like it was in 78 big pool is still there west grass area is good
