The park is open, but two large sections are currently closed, almost 400 sites in total, and there's no real time frame set for a reopening of either of the sections. So space is sparce and good sites are difficult to come by. I also agree with Andy, electric is somewhat unreliable, and we constantly receive low AC alerts on our panel in many of the the 30 amp sites. We've lost a microwave and an air conditioning unit due to this ongoing problem. Just be sure to keep an eagle-eye on your panel display. Otherwise, staff is super nice, the park just needs better management and some serious redevelopment.
If it is open, it should be shut down - we've stayed at numerous such sites from Thousand Trails - while some are better than others, all are fine except this one - this is the worst managed site we've ever seen - you'd be better off way over at Rancho Oso - or if you need to be in this area then stay at the KOA further down 14.
I can't speak to Andys' experience but my family and I like this park. The staff are super friendly and the amenities are better cared for than at Wilderness Lakes. There are quite a few sites and one area that are currently closed due to electrical issues, but the sites that are open are nice and work well. Not sure of the hours but I'm pretty sure a ranger is on duty 24/7.
