One of my favorite railroads ever!!! The beautiful mountains, the nice staff, the clean and well maintained train cars, buildings and facilities, the amazing store and restaurant. I really can't say enough of this place! Just had our 2nd trip here and can't wait to come back!

My son and I trekked to the mountains for this AMAZING, one-of-a-kind experience. These trains will blow your mind! They weave and lumber through these mountains like prehistoric beasts. Clanging and whistling and belching steam all along the way. PLUS the historic landmark town of Cass, W.Va. is a delight. Well kept. Well interpreted. I HIGHLY recommend this experience. PS: We camped at the nearby Whittaker Campground...and had a GREAT experience.

Feels like we stepped back in time during our stay here. The cabins were cute and comfortable. Very clean. We took the 4.5 hour train ride and had a great time. The staff throughout the park were friendly and helpful. We even got to go fishing in the Greenbriar River. We plan on coming back again next summer.

Cool place to stop on your way to Snowshoe! Their store has a lot of unique finds! I’ve heard some awesome things about visiting here during the warm months but haven’t had a chance to do so yet. A summer visit is on the bucket list!

No i dont believe they do, it was a semi rainy day that we went and everything stayed on schedule
There is no Hilton. Snowshoe ski resort will have a couple nice places to stay, or you can drive roughly another hour away and stay in the town of Elkins.
A few of the houses for rent allow for pets. Best to call in advance and see if one is available. Enjoy
Pets are not allowed on the train. Not sure about any doggy daycare in the area.
I stayed a couple nights in one of those old company houses and that really added the experience of the train ride.
Nice place across the tracks called Beaver Creek resort, call because they don't answer emails, clean, cable TV and good WiFi. .only 5 rooms
Yes, but they are the type you can't use while the train is stationed
This time of year the train runs only on Saturday. The three Saturdays in October should be good for color. Be sure to make a reservation. The ride on October 14th for example had less than ten seats available when I checked
