We loved our stay at American Pines! The cabin was snug for 5 people, but it was clean, cozy, and the beds were comfortable. The family/friends that own the property were so friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed our UTV rental from them, as well. Great location as far as access to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, and Keystone/Hill City activities. I would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Modern 2br 1 ba with kitchen in private area of other vacation properties. Better than any hotel in the area! Priced right. Responsible, thoughtful, caring owners. Stayed in May 2022.

Awesome owners, great location, great cabins. I am writing this review while sitting on the deck at the cabin we rented for a week. This may be a yearly trip out to the black hills in South Dakota. Get up early to enjoy the view. bring warm clothes when in the off season and pack accordingly for the weather. There are two heaters in the cabins and one AC unit to cool. Warm pajamas in the off season may help.Pack hiking gear and bring a hiking backpack Because you are near great hiking trails. Watch out for deer on the roads ( saw 12 deer on the way to the resort) and the railroad crossings for the 1880 train.
