The St. Clair Hotel - Magnificent Mile

Friendly and respectful staff. ❤️ This hotel has simple rooms, both functional and comfortable. The price and location are unbeatable. The elevators are inefficient as there is no service elevator - makes maneuvering up or down during check out painful. It’s worth noting that the hotel is about to complete a major renovation of the lobby, which will add a restaurant, bar and cafe to its amenities. Looking forward to what’s in store for the St Clair.

The only positive was the location but there are many other options near by that have to better than this. Now for the list of negatives. 1: First impressions are everything and their front automatic doors open sometimes and sometimes open half way or sometimes don’t open at all. 2: The gentleman that checked us in was the only staff member that was nice and did not seem bothered when asking them a question. 3: The elevators are tiny and hard to fit our family of 3 and our luggage. (We had not even made it to our room yet and were getting nervous about our choice) 4:The rooms are VERY SMALL. 5:Staff members do not tell you that you have to request housekeeping. 6: We called the front desk for towels, were told they were on the way. Reminded the front desk after an hour with not getting new towels. Another hour passed and our family had shared towels to finish getting ready and still no towels arrived. 7: we could not connect to WiFi to get anything done. Spent more time trying to connect and ended up using a phone as a hot spot. 8: This is on us for assuming they had at least a microwave and mini fridge (they don’t have in the room) but they could easily solve this issue by having a microwave in the lobby for families traveling with small children. I guess we were just completely underwhelmed.

The location and the price is unbeatable! I had an amazing experience here! It is a small space but, it’s perfect for 2 people. It’s clean, and the bed is comfortable. We were always out and about so we only came to rest and sleep. Walking distance to everything. Super perfect for us! The service is great as well. I’ve stayed in fancier hotels but, tbh for a 2 star hotel, the price,the service and the room was perfect! Looking forward to seeing this hotel grow! Totally has potential to becoming 5 star boutique hotel.

Really liked this hotel. The location was perfect for us since we were visiting the popular sites and everything was pretty much within walking distance. Shopping and restaurants were accessible as well. As far as the hotel, staff was VERY nice. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. Only complaint, which is why it's a 4 star review, is due to storage space being limited to about 6 hangers and a shelf. Made it a bit uncomfortable to "live" out of our bags. Either way, highly recommend this hotel.
