Saw Tash Saltana. Best....show...ever! The venue was beautiful, I haven't been there in so long but it handled a packed house very well. The crow was unbelievably welcoming but not all of the staff was as friendly as the rest. But I have no complaints. Great venue, still a great location, Oakland for sure. Definitely a must visit location when you have the chance.

It has been a long time since I last visited the beautiful Fox theater. I love it every time I get a chance to attend a show here. Oakland has changed so much over the past decade, due to many different reasons, with gentrification, perhaps, being one of the biggest reasons, among other long-standing social-economic issues that have plagued this city. Anyhow, I got to spend the evening in the graceful presence of Ludovico Einaudi and his special solo performance here at Fox Theater during his American tour. His music is so much more wonderful LIVE! The simplicity of this man's presence and his piano was such elegant of a view, a feast for both eyes and ears. Music like this can calm a crying child, regulate your nervous system, and take your mind to a whole different world. It is pure CLASS! If you're a fan of classical music and get a chance to see this man's performance in real life, I'd highly recommend it. It's worth every penny. P. S. I'm thankful for the sincere older gentleman who worked at the nearby parking lot on Telegraph Ave. He was kind enough to accompany me on a walk to the nearby ATM so I could get some cash to pay him for the parking fee. I so appreciate his kindness and our conversation along the way.

great venue! Saw Haim there. The bathrooms were super clean and there wasn’t really ever a wait for drinks. The decor is also really great. Would definitely see another show there if I had the chance.

This a truly lovely theater and a wonderful venue for a concert. I sat way back in the balcony, but still had a good view of the stage. My daughter and friend were on the floor in GA, and they were so happy to have found a step to stand on so they could see. The sound quality was excellent, and the inside of the theater was gorgeous. We parked about three blocks away, so it was a short walk. There were several options for food nearby. We had Shake Shack!

Shows are set to end and get you to BART on time. 11pm.
Agree with above. Trust me, it's WAY cheaper to take Lyft/Uber or park in the lot than pay your deductible for a broken out window when parked on the street. WE learned that the hard way!!
It may also depend on the show. I was at a show where the opening act did not want any cameras going, but the main act was ok with it.
I work there. Unless your ticket indicates that it is a seated show it is standing room standing-room-only, first come first-serve. There are always a few seats along a railing near the center of the room near the mixer. Those are also first come first serve. If you are looking for a seat I recommend buying a balcony seat so you are guaranteed to be able to sit down during the performance. Be aware however that these seats are further away from the stage then the standing room only main floor tickets.
There are ADA services available at the venue. There is also ADA seating available, as well. I'm not exactly sure how to access these services for the public, but I would say call the Fox box office and explain what's going on and see what they can suggest.
Just only them
No
Pretty sure you can bring him, but play it safe and go to web site of fox or who you bought the tickets from. Ps great place.
Its only about a block and a half away from BART. When you leave, the majority of people will head for the BART too so there really isn't any danger of anything happening. It's also a generally safe area anyway, especially before shows.
I agree that the Courtyard Marriott is the nicest "affordable" hotel. The regular Marriott is directly across the street from it. If you have a car, some of the hotels on Embarcadero may be an option (especially if you are able to use a AAA, AARP, or military/govt discount).
I think it depends on the act performing and how popular they are.. maybe 1.5-3hrs? A wise man said the penalty for being early is always better than the penalty for being too late
No, you need to pick up day of. They are typically only open on show days a few hours before the start of the show (and Fridays).
Yes, this theater is all ages.
For questions like this, you should probably contact the Fox theater for a proper answer.
We had to show proof of vaccination.
Marriott, Moxy, courtyard, etc
Is there a question
The GA floor "pit area" is first come first served. I've been there for a few popular concerts and always arrive for the opening act. I always get a prime spot, as it's never been packed for the opener. It gets more filled for the main act so I'd say it's fine to time arrival for towards the end of the first act and then to move in and get your pit spot.
You would have to call and ask them, but if its sold out, I would say your best bet would be resale online through a trusted site.
Not sure you can call the box office what I heard last it was canceled
If you check their website, you should be able to acquire that information.
The area is very comfortable until the later hours.
This is not explained on their website so it's difficult to say why the difference in price. Many tickets are resold through original ticket agencies and add fees. General admission may vary from show to show, from standing only on floor to upper mezzanine. Might be best to contact theater for specific show info to be sure.
I don't know if they have volunteer services, maybe depends on who is hosting the event. However, I'm sure they have a website for their career options. Hope it helps.
Went to see Van Morrison last Wednesday. The smoke was non-existent and not a problem Oakland.
Standing floor. GA on floor. Then seating up top
It varies by show.
Just enjoy
Yes they are, depending on which row you're sitting.
I don't think so
Yes
We stayed at the Marriott downtown. It seemed that most of he hotels were downtown. Its about 10 mins uber-cab ride...
Chances are you won't be able to... There's a bunch of ticket checkers who guide you to your seat when you arrive.
There are lots of places around it that serve dinner, including restaurants and food trucks, but I've only seen beverages at the Fox.
The lines are like I said hour an half. Depending on the artist.
I go 1-2 hours before doors open to get front on GA Floor.
As Nancy mentioned, no reservations, but, The Den is open well before the doors for the theater, so you can grab a drink or two and some food, and wait for the doors to the theater to open. They will take your ticket at the entrance to The Den, and no in and outs, so once you are in the Den you are there until the show is over
Never been to a show with a screen. Plenty of room in general.
Depends on the artist, but if your ticket doesnt have any number, you can bet it's just standing.
If there arent VIP tickets on offer, you should be able to get in to the lounge/bar area with your GA ticket, and yhere are sests there, too. If they offered VIP, though, thats not an option, though.
Yep! It's $3/item and is located upstairs to the left :)
I brought my backpack and they barely checked it.
No, she should come in a wheelchair or request the venue if they can provide accessibility help. There are no seats down stairs.
There is free street parking and paid lots where prices vary. Expect 15 and up for paid parking
Nope. Your ticket has to say floor to access it. Since its new years, they may give out wristbands to control who goes up and down.
If you want to splurge go to the Fairmont Claremony
Once you enter the theater contact an Usher and they will get you set up in your choice of Ada seating areas. It is a quick and easy process.
