i have to come straight from work -- is it ok to enter with my backpack and computer?

They'll likely just search your bag. Not sure if they'll accept them at coat check (upstairs) but maybe.

I believe there's bag size restriction, but you should call to venue to confirm.

I don't see why you wouldn't. They also have a coat check, but I'd recommend also bringing a small padlock.
