Amazing place in too many ways to list... excellent use of space, unbelievable setting and views... from the perfect gardens to the unbelievable collection of artwork this is an LA must do. Buy or rather reserve your tickets for the date and time you want to go... little to no wait getting into the tram area... trams leave every few minutes and take you straight to the top of the hill and the entrance to the museum itself... you just gotta pay for parking.

Everything about The Getty has an amazing open and expansive feel. The architecture alone will blow you away, and I must say, the blend of art and architecture as you enter the facility is sublime. It has a definite west coast feel for me. The sheer size and vastness of the spaces are very artfully revealed only slowly, as there is only one route of entry. I don’t want to spoil it though, so eyes up when you enter! The Garden is a living work of art. My feelings for just how cool that space is would fill far more than a Google review! Plan for at least two days visit if you’re deeply into art. The collection is huge. 4 very large exhibition buildings. Follow the guideline for free tickets. You need to make a reservation for parking, as it’s a limited space parking area. You park in a garage and ride a train to the top of the hill and the entrance to the facility. It seemed handicap friendly everywhere. The spaces are all very roomy and open. It was quite busy but I never felt crowded.

One of my favourite things to do in L.A.! Every aspect of The Getty is just fantastic. It's $20 per vehicle at the parking lot and that includes the tram ride up to the center (which is a scenic ride itself). Plenty of great exhibits but the highlights for me are the stunning architecture and wonderful gardens. Every single detail of each garden area is so well thought out and carefully planned. Feels so peaceful, even when it's busy. Great views over the hills and suburbs. Even the gardens at the bottom tram station are lovely. Multiple restrooms available and there's a café too. The last trams down get busy, so if you're not so good with walking, get to the tram station with plenty of time before the last one.

The architecture of this building is gorgeous and the gardens are stunning. There are coffee shops here or you could do a little picnic on the garden. The entrance to the museum is free but you will have to reserve tickets online. Parking for the day is $15. There are busses that will take you from the entrance after security checks to the exhibition halls or you could also take a nice slow walk up the slope. The museum has lovely collection. You can spend the whole day here wondering through the collections and reading through his biography, grab a nice sandwich and coffee and just enjoy the garden.

Nope, got kicked out at 530 pm on a thursday, they said thats normal closing time, open at 9 or 10 am, its too short to see it all unless you jog through some parts
Getty Center has free admission but parking is chargeable. $15 flat rate is the parking fee. The same is $10 if you enter after 3pm. Parking for less than one hour is free
Free
The Getty Center of the 405 doesn't require reservations. It's free entrance. Just pay 15 dollars parking. Now the Getty Villa Does require on line reservations. They are both great places to visit and very worth your time.
They do have wheelchairs available. And I believe they are free of charge. I was just there last week and our friend needed to use one and they gave us one.
I am disabled and I managed quite well. From the handicapped parking to the elevator is about a 30 second walk. The tram is right next to the elevator exiting the elevator. After you exit the tram there is an elevator that takes you up to the museum. The longest walk would be the museum. There are benches every step of the way so if she gets tired she can sit.
This is the Getty Museum which is not the same as the Gettysburg Museum. Neither are satanic.
The garden is beautiful and is a great place for a picnic!
You will not get to see everything and will probably want to schedule additional trips to see all there is there. Like one day from 1pm to close to wander and take in the gardens, another day for visual arts, another for architecture exhibits, etc. But anytime is a good time, and if you are bringing youngsters then half a day at a time might be the limits of their patience and attention. Also, navigating the grounds amidst all the others that are there can be quite a tiring experience, though well worth it everytime.
If mean where Michael walked into an ambush by the FIB, corrupt agents and Merryweather, and Trevor coming in to save him, then yes!
There's no admission fee. Parking is $15 before 3 PM, and $10 after 3 PM. Food is good and affordable. Stay all afternoon, between gift shop, parking, exhibitions, gardens, and food, still cheaper overall than going to the movies.
I would try to do it the day before so several slots are open. We waited until the day of and were only able to go to the last remaining time slot before closing time. Any time of the day is good to visit, though.
They require a reservation
Bunker, condos, vault, conservation lab, made up theories, and ground.
Contact the guft shop. They review the application and will tell what tg eri guudelunes are.
Yes
Richard Meier was the architect. www.getty.edu for more information
Keep in mind that the Getty has rotating exhibits as well as permanent collection exhibits the Getty also has a consistent rotating exhibit just for photography. let's also not forget the gardens and just walking the grounds which is beautiful
I doubt it, unless it's a service dog. Check their website.
Down where exactly? Inside the museum, yes. Most areas inside allow photos without flash but some don't. So, pay attention to signs and be courteous and respectful.
Yes. You would have to catch it by the parking area. They have attendant's to help you find your way.
Just pay for the parking fee which is $15.00 and $10.00 after 3:00pm.
Yes
Today ?
Yes and the rate is cheaper during that time as Well! The parking structure is quite large.
Tue-Thu, Sun 10:00 am - 5:30 pm Fri-Sat 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Tue-Thu, Sun 10:00 am - 5:30 pm Fri-Sat 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Not long. 15 - 30 minutes to get in.
I would plan 4 - 8 hours. It is a large museum with alot to see. I don't think you can see it all in one day.
It might show that way online, but you can stay as long as the museum is open. You're just sort of recommended to arrive by the time you schedule.
Yes, you can :-)
No, but you'll need a face mask for indoor spaces.
No proof of vaccination required but they do require masks on the tram that goes from parking to museum and back
Yep! It's the only color among the entire complex. It represents the color of the LA sky at dusk. 🌆
Just go without booking on-line..and have a great fun with people you rolling with
Nope, unfortunately The Getty will be closed on Christmas Day. It is closed annually on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Also, the Getty Center will close at 4pm on Fridays, December 24 and 31.
Yes, open all those days
Okay to get in due to the COVID-19, must have your vaccination card with your current ID. The general administration is free, but the parkings is ($20) twenty dollars maximum.
The grounds close at 6pm.
They have a restaurant and Cafe and snack posts you can eat at there.
It is reopened reservation are required now.
According their website they are going to open in late May. The Getty Village is already open.
I enjoy napping on a monet and rising to a Kate mantellini.😆🔥
Not yet. Getty is working on a reopening plan at the moment. It will be made public soon.
No, it is closed.
Contact the museum. This is a Google review website.
10 am and closed on Sundays
Multiple shops catering all kinds of exhibit related items, including prints, clothing, books, toys et al.
Sorry I can't help with that. But entry to centre is free. We were dropped off at the bottom and went up on the free tram. Enjoy.
I don't know, you should definitely call to ask. Best of luck.
I think so but I encourage you to check it out on the site or on the phone with them
Raining is not an issue for touring. Regardless the weather conditions, Monday is the only day when you can NOT visit The Getty Center.
Free entry, parking / parking I think it comes out 15-20 dollars.
You might want to call for that. I didn't see a place but I may not gave seen it there were a lot of people.
Actually, there is a parking area, then you ll take the shuttle to get the museum. I didn t see a 30 ft rv in there so try to call the museum to be sure before going!
No bike transport into the building complex and not into the train towards it. Sorry.
It closes at 9 according to their site
Yes. All floors are hard surface and there are plenty of lifts. Some of the gardens are gravel but can be viewed from many areas that are not dirt/gravel.
You not sure we were there on a Saturday and did not check when they were open ☹️. I guess I was more excited than my grandmother.
Yes
No outside drinks allowed. Bags are checked as you enter.
Admission is free, but parking is $15 flat rate fee. $10 if you park after 3pm, but if you're there less thsn an hour, parking is free!
No, very easy & cheap to go because they charge per car, not per person
It closes at 5 pm and 4:30 pm you can no longer enter. And then no photos because it is to do ... just take the trip to the parking lot and go.
I don't think so. You go to the museum by tram, so you are bound by tram timings!
No. It's a long, dangerous path up toward the entrance from Santa Monica Blvd. I don't recommend it!
Yes, I used to work there. You can even walk up the hill. Just notify the security guard usually stationed at the bottom of the hill.
I don't think so
If you mean the exhibits that they will be displaying then I recommend you go directly to the Getty website
I would say at least 2 but 4-5 to be thorough.
Everything is made really clear and easy for first time visitors. All you got to do is drive there! Note, this is the case for the Getty Center; I believe the other Getty Museum (on Hwy 1) needs reservations in advance (but I've not been there yet).
The parking fee is reduced to $10 if you come after 3pm.
I didn't see any dogs at the Getty. There's quite a bit of fine art so I assume no pets are allowed.
Suggest going in the morning because the Getty tends to get busy in the afternoon. It opens at 10 every morning, but closed Mondays.
This is not a question.
No reservation is needed. It is good to get there early in the day. It does get foot traffic
I don't know who Klimpt is, maybe they do. They have done Gustav Klimt cillection a while ago. Maybe they have a couple of the pieces.
The tickets are free But the parking u$10 all day
I brought my own and enjoyed eating at picnic area on the grass with amazing view
For the Getty you pay $15 for parking. There is no entry fee for the exhibits.
Very few. Only a small locker that holds a tripod.
Go to the website and it gives you the days and hours of operation.
Call the museum and they will direct you to the correct department.
Not really. There are 3 metro stations (Van Nuys, Wilshire/Normandie, and Sepulveda) that are close, but you'll still need to get on the 734 bus from those stations to get to the Getty Center
We did not take the tour. I would suggest calling them and asking if it is not on the website. Come to think of it, i did not see a guided tour through that exhibit. It was so crowded, i don't see how that is practical.
If you mean best parking lot, there is only one. The entrance is on the street that parallels the 405 on the east side, south of Getty Center Drive.
No discount. Same price but closer to elevators. No charge for the museum. Its a great deal.
Everyday but Monday. Tues-Sunday opens at 10am. Closes 530pm. Open Saturday until 9pm.
Not inside of the garage space but there is an outdoor parking area 20 feet or so away so that's an option!
By navigator
Not sure. Probably regular hours, as noted by other guides.
Its very easy to find. Once you are around Just follow the signs and then the guides will help you inside.
No reservation needed for the Getty Center, just the Getty Villa.
A full day at each if you truly want to have a rich experience that includes leisure time to sip some wine, eat and talk about the beautiful art and landscape that surrounds you.
I saw electric car changing stations in the parking garage the last time we went
It depends on what I want. There are a lot of cossas to see, and the audio tour is fantastic and you can spend all day here or around an hour and a half of exposure.
Haven't been there yet sorry
Closed
There is a Metro bus stop at the center. Park your rig at a safe location and take the bus.
Weather, air is good
Sorry don't know it
No. Absolutely not safe right now. All lanes of 405 fwy closed from 101 to 1-10
The admission is free. You do have to pay for parking for each car.
Yes. They have buses going there and they have a train going up.
sorry, I'm not sure as we visited a week prior
It is a museum and a center for cultural education. The range if art on display is quite diverse. There are also temporary installations of exhibits showing ancient and modern works of art. For example, from Sept. 2017 to Jan. 2018, there are two temporary installations: Golden Kingdoms of the Ancient Americas and Photography in Argentina 1850-2010. This museum is a world class cultural institution that most people will enjoy. Also, the views of LA and the California coast line are amazing.
According to their website, Holiday closures: Thanksgiving, December 25 (Christmas Day), and January 1
Yes, and the parking system is very modern and insightful.
Bus 734
Yes the Getty is free you have to pay for parking $15
The fancy restaurant only opens during the evening. The food from coffee carts is very good and reasonably priced. You can also bring food and picnic on the lawn.
No. And the 15.00 parking fee is good at both places. My advice on weekends try your best to get there to park before opening (10 am) and for sure before noon. You can see so much before the crowds start
Yes, all the buildings have elevators including the one up to the tram
Yes you can. There is a picnic area at the bottom of the hill next to the parking garage, and the food court has lots of seating. Just no food or drink in the galleries.
Did you mean the underground parking lot? There are sings that'll take you to it. Then from there you take the elevator to the main floor, which has the lifts that take you up the hill to the Getty
Parking is $15. Several different tours. I would guess an hour.
The admission to the Getty Center is always free, but parking is $15 per car ($10 after 3:00 p.m.).
