This is the best place to go if you don’t want to drive to girdwood and is a fun place to spend time with friends

Awesome area for beginners to intermediate snowboarders/skiers. Not much in the way of super advanced trails. Staff were nice and personable. The food trucks are good and both they, and the lift ticket desk, take Samsung pay/apple pay/whatever, so I just leave my wallet locked in my vehicle so as not to lose it. Pretty fun place and not too expensive.

Best place to learn how to ski in Anchorage. Small local ski hill that’s family friendly and focused on beginner skiing. Taught my son how to ski here in one day in a relatively safe environment. Only concern is that chairlift does not have pull down safety bar. Hilltop typically hosts annual Special Olympics competitions as well as military appreciation days. Highly recommended as a great place to learn to ski and ride.

Good afternoon from Cape Town, South Africa. I will be visiting Ancourage in August next year and one of my greatest dreams is to ski. Is the resort open in Aug and is there an opportunity for a beginner to hire equipment and ski for an hr or two?

In August, ALL the ski areas are closed, except for hiking and biking. There's no snow.
