Lots of shade on hot days. Very well kept trails. Feels so good to walk around outside in the fresh air and see amazing raptors up close, that we may not otherwise get to experience. All of the animals were very comfortable in their environments and well taken care of. Fun for the whole family.

Great place! Great sanctuary for helping thrs birds. You get up close to these birds of prey that you normally don't see in the wild, at least up this close. We took out kids there and they loved it. Each of the exhibits has a story about the bird or birds that you are seeing in the cave in front of you. Highly recommend visiting!

This place is AMAZING! My daughter and I love raptors and had wanted to check this place out for awhile~we weren't disappointed! They give birds that can't be in the wild a 2nd chance at a wonderful life!! So many gorgeous raptors: owls, eagles, hawks. It was well worth the $10 entry and I would highly recommend anyone who loves raptors to go spend a few hours here. We even got to see the tiny Saw-whet owl have a feeding with one of the caretakers/handlers! Just an overall beautiful place and I will definitely be going again.

They have umbrellas to borrow. We just left and it was even better cause it wasn't hot or so bright we needed sunglasses.
Our paths are crushed rock - gravel, basically. They are steep in places, so boots are not a bad idea. Mud should not be a problem. Enjoy your visit!
We are open now (every day except Mondays, 10 am-4 pm). Unless the state changes the rules again due to a surge in COVID-19, we plan to be open throughout the month. We will be open 12/26 but closed 12/25, as usual. Thanks for your interest!
They currently require appointments.
We do not take anything but raptors, unfortunately - but assuming you are local, you can take the bird to Chintimini Wildlife in Corvallis. Please call them at 541-745-5324. Thanks for rescuing this little guy. Baby songbirds take a LOT of work - they need feeding every 15-20 minutes from sunrise to sunset - not something most people can take on!
As Jeff said: $9 for adults; $8 for seniors (over 65) and students; $6 for children 2-12. And as Sarah also kindly added, the funds help support the birds. We are closed today (Thanksgiving) for open the rest of the weekend 10-4 and hope to see you.
We definitely have volunteer opportunities! Our volunteers contribute something like 20,000 hrs every year - we couldn't exist with them. Volunteer information and an application can be found at https://cascadesraptorcenter.org/volunteer And you can read our full volunteer information packet at the download link on that page. Thanks for your interest!

Billie - The Center is on the slope of Spencer Butte and quite steep in places. Even where we have switchbacks, there are shallow steps. Someone in a wheel chair could see a few enclosures/birds at the top of the driveway but that would be about it. We're working on it, but it will take a lot of money and some time. The terrain is simply challenging.
Billie- There are about 40 birds and as others have commented, how long it takes is very individual. Each enclosure has a sign detailing that bird's personal history plus natural history information on the species; sometimes there is training or feeding going on, and staff/volunteers welcome visitors observing and asking questions. So that can also add time. Some people make it through in an hour, others stray several hours.
I don't know that that would be a good idea, Terri. I would think your cockatoo might be made nervous by the bigger birds - even if she's never seen one, she would recognize the predator profile. And it's usually best to keep a caged bird away from wild birds that could be carrying something that they are resistant to, but a caged bird is not. That said, from y our point of view - from our point of view, we'd prefer not as we don't know what would make OUR birds nervous. Thanks for asking, though!
As everyone has correctly said (thanks, all!), admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (over 65) or teens/students, and $6 for children 2-12; children under 2 are free. Members are free. And groups of 15 or more get a 10% discount. We are open every day except Mondays.
They sure are open on Friday :) Regular hours, and they are open Saturday and Sunday as well. Enjoy!
