I had been in excruciating pain for months and had a microdiscectomy already scheduled with another surgeon in Oregon that I had been underwhelmed at the bedside manner of-but I was desperate. However, after hearing 3 different glowing reviews about the Spine Surgery Center in Eugene, I decided I should make an evaluation appointment with them - hoping that I would feel more confident in them than I was feeling with the first. I would say that my impression of the manner of this surgeon was somewhat comparable, but that the surgery center’s approach was much more welcoming and hands on than the first location. I met with the anesthesiologist right after the evaluation and went over my health history in person (the first place just emailed me a form) and they talked me through the whole procedure. Once the day of surgery arrived, I was tended to individually by all of the 7-8 specialists that would be working with me that day-no chance of misunderstandings or miscommunication-I liked that. Things moved quickly and - I guess like all surgeries - it was over before I knew it! And, the best part of all, I woke up in the recovery room with no pain. I started crying and my attendant nurse was so worried...”Are you in pain?”....and my answer for the first time in 4 months was... “No.” absolutely amazing.

Questions & Answers

Do they do laser spine surgeries

We do not utilize a laser for micro discectomies, but we do use minimally invasive techniques to remove bulging or herniated disks when they are pressing on a nerve root and causing problems.

Is surgery covered by Medicare or is patient responsible as with Laser Spine Institute?

If the procedure is covered by Medicare, then yes. If you would like to come in for an evaluation one of our surgeons would be happy to answer all you questions about treatment options and cost.
