This is a small lake compared to big bear and arrowhead lake but in my opinion this is the most beautiful of them all. You can walk around the whole lake, I haven’t done it but it looks doable. There are areas where you can swim but you have to pay to do that. Definitely recommend this little gem.

Lake Gregory has public access to the beach area with fun amenities for children and adults. There is an entrance fee of $10 plus another $10 to gain access to the water raft amenities. There are also boat, Duffy, canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals available at a reasonable price. My husband and I rented a canoe for 2 hours and really enjoyed being on the lake taking in the beautiful mountain scenes.

NOT RUNNER FRIENDLY: And yet again capitalism at its greatest. I went here to try and run around the lake but in order not to run on the road I had to pay a $10 fee (as well as parking of course) to gain access to the westerly portion of lakeside path. On top of that, because it’s more convenient for their business they have gated and locked a section of trail between the boat dock and the trail and signposted it ‘employees only’ so at this point you have to run up the steps and along the road for a section.

Lots of scenery, very beautiful! It gets a little windy up here so if you're easily cold I'd bring a sweater.
yes it's open today and that is correct $10 for swimming $10 for parking you pay at the little white house that's there and the rest I don't know but it's beautiful it's nice and the little stores around it you can rent boats canoes it's very nice you can fish that is for free you just have to make sure you have a license just make sure you pay for parking they do check
The only place that you can free park is on the street and turnouts and by the baseball diamond I was ran out of the Chamber of Commerce parking lot by a security guard. I fish the lake on a regular basis .
UPDATE...THERE IS NO MORE BASEBALL DIAMOND .
BUT THE RESTROOM AND CHAIN LINK FENCE ARE STILL THERE.
HAVE FUN ..9/1/2020
Is this a dog-friendly lake? We have a four month old puppy and we want to take him swimming.

Does are not allowed to swim in the lake..but it does provide awesome trails to walk and a dog park for your dog. The waters are not safe for your dog..its a fisherman's lake..you will find lots of lines and hooks left behind in the waters and in the sand along the shorelines..
Yes...they have a grocery store that sells bait very close to the lake called Goodwin's and they sell bait at the 7-11 and on the lake i believe is a store too. Goodwin's is my favorite store..they have really good food of you need "bait" for yourself while fishing. 😂
Can we buy tickets to the water park once we ge there? Or do we have to buy them in advance?

Yes you can buy at the door is $10 for parking if you wan park inside or look outside by the streets once you there they have options to the park only or added the water park too
Yes the inflatable activity are available each person that uses the inflatable will pay 25 dollars, the others in the area 10 per person If you go to the right side of the parking there is no inflatable and it's free. Parking is 10 dollars all day and you have to pay it no matter what you do the cops are always going around to see if you got it paid
No. There are campgrounds within 20 min to 60 min away. Dogwood Campfround in Skyforest, CA which opens in late April and then the are some in Big Bear that opens late March.
Camping at Dogwood. It's behind Rim High school on highway 18
Also Lake Arrowhead North Camp up my Mountain Hospital.
Strawberry Flats.
There are others. Google National Forest Campgrounds.
I've also heard that they are trying to get an t.v. park here.
Personal barbecues are not allowed inside or outside the gates. All guests can use the separate barbecues here within the park on a first come, first served basis. Barbecues are located on the north and south shores of the beach. Guests must provide their own charcoal and make sure to prepare food in advance as large knives are not allowed inside the park
No personal BBQs are allowed inside or outside the gates. All guests are welcome to use the free standing BBQs here inside the park on a first come, first serve basis. BBQs are located on both the north and south shores of the beach. Guests must provide their own charcoal and make sure to prepare food ahead of time as large knives are not allowed inside the park.
a time limit to fish no I don't think so.. for how many fishes you can catch I don't know about that. but I think it's a beautiful place just make sure you pay for your parking.. pay at the little white Booth when you first come in
There is a street right behind Goodwin's called Forest shade that is one of our commercial zones. Also I wouldn't hesitate to talk to the lake management if you were just going to store it and then come back 3 days later there are any number of private home owners that would be willing to rent you a space for a couple of days on their land I'm sure just put an ad in Craigslist
Max, swimming is permitted only in the designated swim area. There, the shore is maintained free of fishing hooks or lines and lifeguards are on duty for your safety. Swimming outside of the designated swim beach is strictly prohibited.
Yes, you will need a fighting license which you can purchase at Goodwin's. Then $10 fee for the lake. You can fish at sunrise. You pay for parking by scanning the QR code on the sign in the parking lot.
At this time we have single car parking spaces available sunrise to sunset. Parking is paid via ParkMobile for $2 for the first hour, $1 for each additional hour or $10 for the whole day.
Hello, someone, tell me if it is one of those places where you have to arrive early to be able to enter before it is full of people?
I have previously gone to a lake and arrived at 11am and they no longer let me in because it was full.
Sonia Barajas | Aug 21, 2021
Erick Granados | Aug 21, 2021
Only on weekends if it's full you need to go early
Depends on what you want to? If your going to play in the water I'd say 4 to 6 hours. Or just renting a paddle boat or kayaks 1 to 2 hours. There's also a nice walking trail.
Everything cost money but the water is bad the new companies for owners that have took it over have completely destroyed this Lake there used to be a gator for baseball field and Park area that is completely gone now it is a dirt lot and the water is infected with people reporting sores after leaving it
The lake is open now. The new management is planning on making extensive changes to the park. They are in the process fixing the water slide and adding many things.
Do not have an official date as of yet and all of the planned improvements need to be inspected for safety issues. But you are able to visit it now, fish, swim, picnic and visit the dog park.
Yes. We get snow just like Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear which are a short distance drive from here. As McCollister mentioned make sure you have chains in hand, sometimes authorities will not allow you up if you don't have chains on your tires as safety measures.
I'm not sure can ask San Bernardino County parks and recreation group they can provide more information
Where can I find information on pricing for water activity rentals such as kayaks? Can I reserve in advance? She we try to get there early?

There was nothing open last week as far as we could tell. I would call The Sleepy hollow Inn and ask..they might be able to help you.
Is it open today to swim

cris taylor | Aug 21, 2020
I was there on Monday and Tuesday..not a lot of people. Cpl guys fishing and 1 guy with a kayak. No one was swimming. But, I don't see why you would not be able to
There still is a lot of snow here in Crestline about a foot. As long as good weather remains chains won't be required, as the roads have been plowed. Conditions for the next few days are good.
We caught trout and bluegill but there could be carp.
Is the lake open September 20, we are up for a wedding and would like to see about renting paddle boards

Is there any issue with the toxic algae in Lake Gregory? I'm bringing my dog up this week, September 4-6. It has been causing problems in so many lakes this summer, including big Bear Lake, Lake Perris and Lake Isabella and all over the country.

Yes there's currently signs up about the algae blooms I believe on the website as well .
Do you have overnight camping?
TheOutLaw 10 | Aug 21, 2020
Glenn Robins | Aug 21, 2020
I don't believe they do. I was there for the first time a couple weeks ago and I asked the same question then and was told no - day use only. But, things change, I would call them directly. If they don't have camping maybe someone there can tell you about nearby campgrounds.
Not the best, mostly stalkers,, but just down the road is Miller canyon at silverwood. It's a little over a mile hike from parking but it's a honey hole. Fish bite nightcrawlers on a Carolina rig. Goodluck
Hello can you fish at this lake? And what is the fee?
Is the Splash pad for the small kids open yet? I called a few weeks ago and they said a pipe broke and they were working on it. Thank you

There is a pad at the side of the lake with inflated sides and kids are swimming and using it now. I'm here doing a run around the lake. It's open very busy down here though. Fireworks show tonight and BBQ I believe. I'd post a pic but I don't think I can do from here.
No there is a narrow road that circles the lake and a parking lot where a small cafe located next to the lake but it's not meant for RV parking. If you Google search "Lake Arrowhead RV parking" you can find some spots nearby.
I’m planning a trip and was wondering if this year there’s enough water to swim in? Also in the swimming are we able to grill with charcoal? Are there any fees I should be aware of? Are canopy tents allowed in the swimming area?
Jess Lemus | Aug 22, 2019
Vaughn Simmons | Aug 22, 2019
The Lake is now full and there is swimming allowed in the beach area...there are grills out which allowd for charcoal to be used...may visitors use their canopy' s at the lake as well...feel free to contact the chamber of commerce in crestline ca
The grocery store has a deli coffee shop and candy counter, chocolate and ice cream, they also BBQ.
There is a Mexican food restaurant on the same side of the lake
Yes. It depends on the type of boat or watercraft, where on the lake and what activities are ongoing that day. It's best to check at www.lakegreogoryrecreation.com
I started visiting the Lake in 1968, when I first moved up to Arrowhead. Over the following 43 years my family and I are still grateful for all of the fun we had there. Downtown Crestline also has much for family fun.
The Lake is open from Sun Up to Sun Down. Make sure to stop by a Fishing Pay Station & Purchase a Fishing Access Pass. It Cost $8.00 & your limited to 5 fish per person, per day.
Don't bother. We fished there two and a half weeks ago (one week after the Trout Derby plant). All three of us skunked and a local said she walks the lake everyday and never saw anyone catch a fish.
Is it $10 each person for swimming ? What about kids? Is it same price ? How much to rent a water cycle ?

Arishma, you're asking to google, we are just guides. If you want an accurate answer go again to Google maps, look for the lake and in the bottom you can find their web or to call them.
No personal BBQs are allowed inside or outside the gates. All guests are welcome to use the free standing BBQs here inside the park on a first come, first serve basis. You would have to call the Parks and Recreations department. I have never seen a kayak on the lake forsake a private kayak I know they have paddle boats and other canoes that they rent
Can you put up recent pictures of what the swimming area looks like? I've heard the north shore is closed for swimming, so I'd love to see a photo of what area(s) are open for swimming this summer.

They are working to fix problems with the dam so the lake is 6 ft lower than usual. They've moved the swimming area a little to the east but you still go in at the same gate and its straight out from there. Pretty much right across from the boat house. Don't really have any pics but next time I'm down there, I'll post them for you.
There are some campsites around Lake Gregory but you would have to contact them ahead of time. There is one located by the damn there is one Christian Center up in Lake Gregory and there are furthermore other ones in Big Bear
Yes on the dogs. Anglers can pay for their day offishing at the various Fishing Pay Stations around the lake. ... They also limit the catching of fish at Lake Gregory to five
Please don't do that. There are homes, lake-goers, hikers and picnicers all around there. Maybe another area close by? But not too close? It's not really a "riding" area. No offense intended.
Don't know if you need a pass if you have a license. It's been a few years since i bought a license, so I'm sure the price has skyrocketed like every other govt fee.
I walked there today, eater level is better. Im not a fisherman. There were a few out there on the banks. Im not sure hoe the trout derby went a few weeks ago. We had rain that day...
