Had so much fun camping here. The restrooms were stocked and pretty clean as well as the shower stalls. Although there was a lot of "meat bees" at the campground we didn't get stung by them. And we also never used insect repellent. We were there 4 days and came home without any bug bites. There's a swimming hole walking distance from the camp. And Malibu beach was a short drive away. And we hiked a 2.5 mile trail one way. We found so many things on our hike. It was an amazing trip.

Malibu Creek State Park was really good, we enjoyed trailing. We took main trail head till Mash. Spring is good time to do trailing as nature on it's pick and weather is enjoyable. State Park offer Parking for entire day for $12. There is Hindu temple near by State Park if you like to visit. MASH site is historical tv series set.

It’s a great park! Nice variety of landscapes to enjoy hiking in, good bathrooms, plenty of parking, free water fountains, safe dumping for coals from cooking fires for those camping, and well-marked trails. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is that unless you’re coming on a weekday morning - it is usually absolutely packed with people celebrating events, hiking in large groups or families with stereos turned up loud and making a lot of noise. On a weekend, it’s not a restful or quiet place. It’s just so crowded and so noisy with man made noise. I wish there was a way for them to enforce a quiet ordinance or keep numbers of people allowed in the park down on weekends. If none of that bothers you, enjoy! But I may start coming only during the week.

Great place to go for a hike. Quiet after you hike in a little more than a 1/2 mile or so and start up into the hills. Look for the place that they films planet of the apes, good signage telling you a little about it. Also, continue to go in further, about 2.3 miles from the parking lot, and you will come to the set of M.A.S.H. You should come away with lots of great memories.

A lot of incorrect answers here - As Jim Robertson said, "Only in parking lot and designated camping spots ... otherwise you are subject to a hefty fine."
I was just there. And at the entrance there was a sign that said no drone zone.
Check the website for reservations and availability. The campground was damaged by the fire, so camping may be limited or closed.
Yes, it has re-opened since the fires and should be opened every day.
Not likely. I reserved six months ahead to get a spot.
There is a small creek to swim in, and huge rocks to jump off of. Its open as long as the suns out i believe.
There is a campground at Malibu Creek State Park.
Dogs are not allowed on the trails per state park's regulations and there is a clearly marked trail that leads to the rock pool and the creek. I don't know, though, if dogs are allowed in these water spots. I suggest that you contact a ranger for further information regarding your dog and the water regulations.

I believe it's governed under the National Park Services so if it's a federal holiday then they would probably follow it. Also, if the main gates are closed you can always head for the upper entrance that is not supervised at all. Though the hike in is a bit more strenuous.

Yes! It is very nice there!
When you enter the park, park in 2nd lot, go on the trail.....there are signs. However, jumping off the rocks is not a good idea as there are probably submerged rocks you cannot see. Plus the bacteria level of the water is probably high.
Yes I didn't have any problem with cell service while there in the parking lot area. Maybe on parts of the hike but you should have signal in the parking lot.
There are signs from the parking lot. Follow the trail a mile or so. It's closer to the dam area though
