I’ve been an Emerald Club Member at National for a couple years. The San Diego location seemed to be low on the number of cars to choose from but it may also have been simply the time of day I arrived. All in all the car was in good condition, no surprises and the check out / in process went smooth as it should.

Best rental car experience that we have ever had. We had a couple of minor challenges at pickup - both we immediately and easily handled. We could pick from dozens of cars - which was both convenient and fun. Drop-off couldn't have been faster or smoother. Nathan at pickup was tops, as was Miguel at drop-off. Thanks to the whole National team at SAN!

Had a great experience! Needed to rent a car for a day, and was able to make a last minute car rental here. The process was extremely smooth from beginning to end. Everyone was very friendly and understanding and the overall process was so easy. Would highly recommend this place - they actually have the cars you reserve available. They also have hybrid cars, which is also extremely valuable considering the rising price of gas in California!

I really enjoy my corporate Emerald Club membership. I enjoy picking a car that matches what I'm going to be doing at a location. I appreciate how fast I'm able to leave the airport - find the car, hop in and go. Every step is as fast as advertised. Lastly, I get great rates and for this reason, I come here and only here. I actually look forward to renting. Once in a while there will be an Emerald Isle that only has somewhat generic cars, but not the end of the world. There's almost always an interesting / fun option. For my needs, this is a great fit.

Yes, but pay in cash because we booked a car from 4 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. (which is 24 hours and 30 minutes) and they said that we have to pay the price of only one day, but they charged us for two days *even* after telling us about it and there is no-refund for credit/debit/netbanking. We were disappointed but hey, use your card. Have a good day!

Rental companies frown heavily on taking a car to mexico. Insurance will be much more than just staying in the usa
Generally no it is not allowed unless you buy additional insurance to cover the car while in Mexico. I would call them to see if they have the additional insurance available and how much it cost.
