If you're in Lincoln City/Newport/Depoe Bay, I'd recommend this place for sure. Check for the weather and tides before you visit this place. Best combination would be a high tide day which will make the Thor's thunder louder along with a sunny day to bring out different shades of blue from the Pacific. You will be descending over 50 odd stair steps followed by a rocky beach to reach the Thor's well on a low tide day.

Amazing natural and man made wonders. Thor’s well which seems to drain the ocean and a shooting spray under the 100 year old bridge. A must if you like to soak in the majestic ocean views and walk on rocks to enjoy the spectacles of ocean. Thors well is a bit of an adventure to find but accessible if you keep walking further towards the ocean. My 5 year and 10 year old had so much fun jumping on the rocks.

Really cool spot, but I have to admit we didn’t go at the right time (high tide) and so we weren’t able to fully appreciate Thor’s Well for what it truly was. The surrounding area was gorgeous and so I have no complaints. The photos shared are of the area in general. Beautiful place. Even so, make sure you show up at high tide.

Must go to place in Oregon Coast and you can go anytime of the day but sunset here is amazing. Try to go around the high tides as you will get the best views. Be patient and try to stay longer here to capture amazing views. Be careful of the rocks as they can be slippery and enjoy this place. It is just amazing.

Yes, there's some space near the parking spots, and some others that are a little bit of a walk.
There are pathways, paved easy access from highway pull off. If you can't walk there is a direct pull off with a higher overlook than the walking path, but view not quite as good. Path probably too narrow and irregular for wheelchair or walker though.
I agree Jeannette. I was there 2 weeks ago and you can get fairly close but not enough due to the tide and such but still well worth it!
As Mirisha answered it is not too steep path but going back up could be a workout. Still a good view where the ramp ends along with good views along the way down.
When you view it from the observation area you may not see it right away. You have to wait for the tide to come in and out a few timeas before you see it.
I read somewhere that it is the collapsed ceiling of an underwater cave... So assuming one survived the surf and the sharp rock edges and the barnacles, there's the matter of finding a way out of the cave... In short, it is highly inadvisable for a human to dive in it.
Yes thors well is open. Not to sure on the camp grounds that open though.
Google for sure but last weekend it was like one pm ish
The churning surf that blows in and out of the well would kill a person. It is not feasible to explore the hole itself from the inside.
12:20 pm and 11:42 pm
Because it is.
