The churning surf that blows in and out of the well would kill a person. It is not feasible to explore the hole itself from the inside.
It is not that big of a hole, perhap 10 or 15 feet in diameter. Very steep sides, lined with barnacles and a constant churn of seawater flow in and then back out. Going in would be very dangerous and likely illegal. There was a park ranger watching over the tourists when I was there.
