A beautiful and senic park!! A great place to sit, relax, picnic, and bird watch with family and friends. Lots of history and features make it a nice area for a walk as well. The Rose Garden is a neat place for pictures and adds to the area.

Beautiful park!! A great place to sit, relax, picnic, and play games with kids and friends. My boys love fishing and buying ice cream.
The only down part is that the restrooms are dirty and there are way too many vendors… other than that… I love the events like the car show… pretty cool!

I love the ducks and ponies! I love the trees and the atmosphere. A lot of people are taking professional shots here. A beautiful park.

Great park with the big lake. But also one too many people fishing. I’m sure that it is great for them to be allowed to fish here, particularly with little kids. But, at the same time there are one too many people doing just that. Maybe because it was a Sunday late afternoon. I was told that when a couple were there on a Saturday afternoon, they didn’t see that many people at the park, let alone all the people fishing.
Nonetheless, it is a great park to hang out and spend an afternoon with family. And it is also an awesome place to do an engagement session. I saw 3 sessions going on simultaneously across the park.
There are homeless people anywhere you go doesn't always mean they are bad people, so enjoy the old trees and beautiful nature of the park with new playground equipment for the entire family to have fun at.
Am fairly certain that you will need a required food handlers/sellers permit from the county health department. The city's Park and Rec will give you the necessary info.
I see ducks but no pigs. Im re editing my comment my nephew took a video on pigs in Fairmount park so there are pigs in the park, he took the video at night
No, as the others have stayed there are vendors walking around pushing there carts and your there the save time there are. Also there are 4 convenient stores nearby.
Yes, but beware of the other people arounfmd you. It gets pretty dark in a lot of areas and being a large lake and park attracts many homeless, druggies and just shady individuals. I my self have been there many times at night and never a bad incident.
Should be of course I would be using proper sanitizing protocols before allowing them play. I do this normally so now is a for sure. Also social distancing and face covering. Have 2 three n four Y O granddaughters I draw choice designs on them (costume play) get a strong 80% participation from them with a little make believe lol
🛃 Fairmont Park Lake( 2' deep ) drained years and years ago(1980?) for maintenance. Surprise 25 dumped firearms?pt.2. If drained now would that number be higher/lower,?
Yes,you will find lots of grassy areas around the ponds. A favorite spot is near the playground, which is also close to parking and restrooms. You will also find areas with bbq grills and picnic tables, but they are very limited in number, and oddly placed! They aren't close to parking, meaning you have to lug all your supplies a couple minutes each way,and they aren't very close to the water, either,so bring binoculars if you want to keep an eye on your kids or your car! Seriously though, this is a very nice place to spend the day, bring a big blanket to throw down on the grass under one of the many shade trees, and enjoy a little tranquility.
Yes. There are signs all over the lake saying the catfish is not safe to eat but the bluegill, bass, and carp are safe to consume in limited qualities. Based on the stuff I've seen floating in there I wouldn't eat anything and always release but it is not mandatory to. You can catch and keep to eat or taxidermy but catching to throw away is considered waste and is illegal statewide. The cdfw has a downloadable guide which is awesome for determining catch limits statewide. They don't mention Riverside county so I'm guessing it falls under the other areas category. When in doubt always refer to the guide.
Yes, whaaaat Larry said. If you show up first it's yours but if somebody did pay to reserve it then it would be theirs. I just call the friiday before and ask if it is reserved so I usually know If I can use the table I want.
Fished here since I was 7 now I'm 39 I've seen how the lake has changed over these years, action just gets slower and slower and there is no money in the budget to stock
I don't recommend that in this park! The Park is completely neglected, dirty, the children's playground is damaged, it is full of street vendors, the Lake is dry and definitely very ugly at this time! Nothing to do with the Fairmount park of 2 years ago!
Their in the front of the park ..... you'll see a train rite where you come into the park an the tennis courts will be to the left of it ......hope to have helped
Yes absolutely I think so if your gonna have kids there they will have plenty to do between the ducks, the pond and the multiple play grounds that suit all ages it's a good choice. The men can even go fishing haha. Also the restrooms are well placed all having one in each area of the park so I'm gonna say around 4 minimum. Also, many ppl don't know this but, take grapes to feed the ducks bread isn't actually good for them even though alot of ppl still do so. Congrats btw
Well that's a tough question because I'm an animal lover. They live there and if they're found good homes then they should be givin that opportunity but they've never ever bothered me so well " LIVE AND LET LIVE"
Okay we celebrated my grandbaby second birthday over at the park and the water was running in the park. The water park area is hopping ...nice and cold om the worst hottest day guys ! My little one was mad when I took her out ... It's very refreshing ,!!!! This was like a week ago so that's the latest most recent info. I can contribute to you all ok
No, any kind of water craft is not permitted on the water, to protect the wild life that live in and around the water, "ducks, geese, beavers, and whatever else might be living there"
Are the bathrooms at Fairmont Park open yet on the weekends as of 8/14/2020?

Yes...most are open from 9 til like 7. They are intermittent...so don't get discouraged if you find one closed. The one off Market place near the 60..across from the tennis courts are most often. G'luck.
Last time I went to this park in June this year, the lake had trash, dark water and ducks were few. There was a lot of trash around the lake, not many people. Nice metal benches around but not clean areas. It was depressing.
Yes. There is a few places. You even get a discount if u are a riverside resident. They have signs on the places theu rent with a phone number to call. 👍
Yes you can...I fish regularly... Arrive around 9:00pm and leave around 5:00 am.. sherrif's patrol the lake..they don't ask for license ..they just want to see if u caught anything
Oh you mean bait for fish I don't suggest fishing at Fairmount Park there literally is signs saying not to eat the catfish for environmental reasons or something like that when my kids were little you know 30 years ago we used to go to the park there was like Plenty of Fish the lake was beautiful I was there the other day I can barely even see any fish at all like one or two and the lake just does not look like it did 30 years ago they need to do some environmental cleaning at that Lake
You have to call Park and Recreations to see what their policy is.. the person in charge of the jumper is supposed to have insurance when they do a park party.. so you need to call Riverside Park and Recreation.. but the park is super nice..
Riverside Parks and Recreation will allow you to "rent" space at the park. You set it up with them in advance and pay for a slot of time. I would do it way in advance, especially if it's a summer wedding because the time slots get rented up pretty fast in the summer.
Unsure as to the potential legal aspects and ramifications of this inquiry. The prudent course would be to contact Riverside's Park Recreation and Community Services Dept. regarding this matter.
You can find them listed online.
Any state park or county park you need a license you can get a day permit or just buy a yearly license at Wal-Mart you do need one its the law just look it up i guarantee youll need it
Last time I checked, camping out was not an option. It's a park, like those you visit for a day. It would make a nice camping spot if they made it this way
Yes, of course you may. But it would be in your best interests to have someone hold your chosen area for you in advance of the festivities. As with most of the spots there they're on a first come first serve bases. No reservations.
The only thing is the actual spot you are doing the party at. .im not sure if you reserved a picnic area w tables because they are first come first serve unless someone paid to reserve that spot so as long as your chosen location is open it should be fine but you might want to make sure you don't have to have it reserved for electricity reasons for the bouncer? .im sure the bounce company has some kind of generator they can use to power it but I would just make sure. That is nice whomever said to let all the kids at the park come in the jumper but also keep in mind that this park in particular gets pretty busy with kids and the jumpers have a limit to how many kids may be in there at one time so you may want to think of that so the guests traveling to the park just for your child's event aare able to participate, jusssttt a thought :) good luck oń your party!
Am not certain about the city's policy regarding ceremonial or religious activities at it's public parks.
I would like to think that it's okay. But get the correct info regarding your baby shower directly from Parks and Rec Dept. You can call or go online.
No you can't use casting Nets but it would be a good idea to bring a real fine mesh net in case you can catch some of the Shad that are in there excellent day my Facebook picture I caught that catfish there at Fairmont
What happened to all the ducks? I have been bringing my kids here for 25 years and I went through there this morning and the ducks are gone

Sadly and unfortunately, oftentimes, these beautiful birds are poached. Other times they may be nesting in a place on the secluded island, in the middle of the lake, and some of them probably migrate also.
Should be able to book online
Though depending on which section of the park you want have your shower. I would say a month ahead if possible. That way you can get the spot you want.
Or you can save the money it will cost to do all that. And just show up fairly early and grab a spot.
Either way. Have a very blessed baby shower.
Hope this info helped.
No you dont have to pay for the pit but there are always events and space gets taped off early so get there early if you want a good spot. On the romadas i dont know just yet new to this area its just someplace ive been a few times. Hope this is helpful
I Don't Horses Are Allowed There ! But There Are So Many Trails To Walk & Take You're Kids To Play At The Playground And Family Gatherings & Barbeque At This Place
Only if you want to use the gazebos to have a party and there is a fee that I been told to go into the rose gardens. Also there is a pond where you can rent a paddle boat. But the park itself there is no charge. Good luck.
California law requires a fishing license but the park does not charge to fish in their lakes. Just make sure to not leave fishing line because there is a lot of wildlife that call this place home.
