Called at least 20 times no answer. I drive an hour there because the tracking number said it had arrived here. Lady at desk tells me no package of mine has arrived there and there’s nothing she can do. So much for having a gift for my father on Father’s Day. Also could’ve saved me an hour drive there and an hour drive back if they would’ve just answered the phone, because honestly they weren’t busy at all. Pretty frustrating.

One star is generous. They’ve been delivering my mail to someone else and no matter how many times I go in to try and fix it it still happens. Literally they are delivering my bills and packages to some guy who occasionally brings them to me. The address and name on them is mine!! Last time I went in to let them know I didn’t get my mail they straight up told me to my face that it was in my mailbox when I had checked it right before. I do not understand what they are doing but I really wish I didn’t have to use this post office at all.

February 2022 New delivery/carriers have been gracious & helpful by delivering more to my actual porch. I'm bringing this review back up to 3 stars only for their benefit. After multiple calls & complaints some of the 'old guard' still refuse to deliver to my porch. So, the inconsistencies remain. Yes, I get the shortages of staff etc but, care about the quality of your work performance & the service you provide. I would have loved to give gifts to a carrier if it was consistent. Update 12/4/19 So ,we had Nor'Easter yesterday. I shoveled multiple times to keep the driveway clear. Everything is melting today. Water dripping from the rooftops and splashing everywhere. Salt chunks visible on the wet pavement. I got packages today! Guess where they weren't! Protected in a plastic bag. Is there a change in policy to not use plastic bag protection at delivery? Guess where they were & are? Were, left on my porch, no plastic bag for protection set under a dripping roof. Oh ya. Got video this time. I'm waiting for the USPS cs dept to call me back. This is ridiculous! ELECTRONICS LEFT UNDER A DRIPPING ROOFTOP !? All done with this. Dropped stars to 1 (deserving of a zero). I'm disabled & in March will have lived here 2 yrs. I've never had consistant carrier service in this town. I receive extremely expensive transplant medications through the mail. Doesn't feel like the carriers care though. Update 12/3/19 Nor'Easter outside. Lots of snow and wet everywhere. What does our friendly neighborhood postal carrier choose to do? Leave cardboard boxes in inches of wet snow on my porch with ZERO protection from the elements. Are you out of plastic bags? I've lived in almost all the greater Portland towns and have never had such poor and seemingly vindictive postal service. This is ridiculous. Black Friday and Cyber Monday have just happened and your carriers are leaving boxes out in the elements? I have pictures of all deliveries and it's clear these actions are like a vendetta. Knowingly leaving packages in the elements risking destruction of federal mail? Medications and electronics! Is this real life? I've tried to be helpful and obliging but, I'm not sure where leadership is here. I'm not the only one with this issue. I'm absolutely sure of it. Update 11/22/19 so, I've complained to Amazon and the post office and even spoke with a guy who said he was 'acting postmaster' about the constant issues with package delivery. Two times since I posted my initial review packages have been left in the RAIN without having been put in a plastic bag! I'm disgusted with this post office's carriers and whoever manages them. Might want to reevaluate their training and follow through. This post office has some of the laziest carriers I've ever experienced. Portland wasn't even this bad! I should give a this town's postal carriers a one star review but, because I know there are those who actually value their position and care about how they represent themselves and the USPS I'll leave it at 3. For now . So, I don't know who my carrier is by name or face because it's not always the same person who delivers packages I get that it's due to volume. There seems to be zero consistancy in package delivery though. I have complained before but, here we are in November 2019 and the forecast called for afternoon rains. Why was my CARDBOARD BOX left in the rain without protection? The box fell apart as I picked it up. Typically they would put it in a lightweight, plastic bag if there was a threat of rain. Anyway, I'm frustrated with the Gorham postal carriers. I know our economy sucks but, carriers, you chose this job. Have some pride and stop acting like delivering packages is an inconvenience. So incredibly disappointed with the USPS.

Nice, but useless. On a positive note, everyone I interacted with at the post office was nice and tried to be helpful. However, that’s probably the only positive thing I can say. As far as the negatives: 1. Mail and packages get delayed/not delivered without explanation. 2. Dishonesty from the mail carrier. I had a situation where the carrier claimed he put a package in my mailbox despite the package physically being unable to fit. 3. Trying to stuff packages clearly bigger than the box into the mailbox, sometimes damaging the package. 4. Hold mail doesn’t work appropriately. Still delivered a package within the hold window and did not deliver mail after the hold period. 5. Staff at the post office are friendly but unable to help resolve any of these issues. Honestly, if I had a choice, I’d use someone else.
