I believe you should receive something in the mail from DMV. I think once you receive that, then you can begin the renewal process. You may even be able to renew your license online, without having to actually go into a DMV office. Every so many years, they will require you to come in and complete the vision test, but other than that, you should be able to renew online without having to go into the office. I hope that helps. If you want to receive a "Real ID". You will need your birthday certificate, SS card and two documents with you name and address. If you want to renew your current California ID card. Then no Birth certificate is needed. The "Real ID" is required if you're going fly. TSA will ask for it NEXT YEAR.

All the online services that are being offered are just the basic things that you're seeing like renewing your driver's license vehicle registration and stuff like that.. you will probably have to go up to the location in Hawthorne and speak with a DMV rep thatd standing outside assisting people in line

You can still show up without an appointment and get in line. If there is a big crowd, what they do is issue you a paper with a return time on it for later in the day. You come back at that time and line up again but the paper insures you will be seen.

The best thing to do is get there around 7 am. Wait in the line to get a ticket. They will give you a time to come back. But, before you go fill out the identification form application to get a confirmation code. FYI: The key is to get there early to get that ticket.

Their online appointment doesn't work, so yes, you have to show up early. I showed up at 7am on Friday and the line was long and around. However, they gave us a slip with a time to return that day. The paper slip was acting as your appointment only for that day.

I think to get more accurate answer for that, you can either call DMV or use their Chat service on their website which I recommend. It's the button on the lower right that says "ASK DMV". You'll be greeted by their chatbot but just type "talk to live agent" so you'll be redirected to a real person to answer your inquiries. I was there a few days ago. I arrived at 7am and didn't leave until 3:15pm. Over 8 hrs. And I had Express Service. They currently are not accepting apps. People start lining up @ 5 or 6am.

Hello lisa, their is about 40 somthing, I believe and you can miss up to 6 i think double make sure before you take it but around their. Also recommend asking for a paper test, that way you can go back and double check awsners.

U need your passport and visa and I94 printed out if applicable also proof of address...i.e lease agreement, bank statment or utility bill and if u have a work visa u must have a social security number so bringing the card would help
