The best thing to do is get there around 7 am. Wait in the line to get a ticket. They will give you a time to come back. But, before you go fill out the identification form application to get a confirmation code. FYI: The key is to get there early to get that ticket.
I didn't make an appointment, best thing if you don't have an appointment is to go there before 8 am and get a ticket. They will have you come back around 1pm and you will be in and out pretty quick
Call DMV and make an appointment for the DMV closest to you
