Beautiful 3.5 miles of sandy beaches with historical cottages, campgrounds and miles of hiking trail!

Wrote about this under Crystal Cove State Park, but basically, absolutely love this place and the design. Each spot has a clear view of the ocean and only face the ocean. Each row is slightly higher than the row closer to the ocean so you can see over the other campers. Bathrooms were nice and clean and plentiful. Basically each row seemed to have a restroom.

After multiple attempts trying to reserve a site at Crystal Cove State Park Moro Campground, we finally were able to spend the first weekend in November there. Site # 5, with water and electric. The campground is on the bluffs, with 6 tiers, sites angled so each campsite has an ocean view. The spaces are large, set among natural chaparral plants. There are walking paths to the bluffs and the trailhead to backcountry hikes starts at the Moro Day use area right next to the campsite. The tunnel under PCH to get to the beach is also at the day use area. Moro Campground is close to town, restaurants, and the multi-use path along the beautiful coastline. We really enjoy camping in CA State Parks including Moro Campground.

Nice big RV spaces, each one with an ocean view. Clean restrooms. Water and 50 amp electric. Dump station on the way out. Three miles to food in Newport, three miles to food in Laguna. SLOW internet. A little bit of a walk to the beach, UPHILL all the way back.

About 3 miles to Lower Moro campground, and 3.4 miles to Upper Moro campground
Dogs are allowed only in the campground area and always on a leash. Unfortunately there is no hiking for Fido.
There are 60 campsites half of them have hookups half of them are tent sites so the prices are $50 per night
Yes...if you're staying I'm the campground, book online...
It varies on the day and time of year. You can see how much when you make a reservation for that day. Best of luck it is very popular.
You are allowed 1 vehicle and 1 tow-in. Extra vehicles are $15 each a night. No more than 3 vehicles. You are allowed 6-9 people on your campsite. I can't remember if it is 6 or 9. 😊 So 2 cars, 1 trailer, and 2 tents are A-ok. You will just have to pay $15 in the morn for the extra car. 👍
No hook ups considered dry camping unless you get the first 3 rolls and then only electric and water
We have taken a cat and two dogs, as long a you follow the rule and keep it clean after your dogs no problem
You are probably referring to the Crystal Cove Beach cottages you can rent them for a short period of time try Googling Crystal Cove Beach cottages
$75 per night plus a registration fee of $8 for the rv sites. The primitive sites are around $25 per night
Yes you do... but if you pull up and they've had a cancellation you can usually stay for one night
Yes, toilets, tables, and a central water supply. There are coin operated showers and a dish sink. At the campsite there is only one picnic table.
It might though. If federal employees aren't getting paid (parks and recreation) the parks will have to close. It's happened before.
No...dry camping only...1 thru 30 has hook-ups
Yes, there is cellphone connectivity through Verizon... and my guess is others as well
On the beach no. But they have spots on the bluffs that over looks the beach, you can here and see the ocean, but you do have the road with some traffic noise between the bluff and the beach
Power and water
It's best to get reservations for busy weekends, but it looks like reservations are not a must. Good to know!
I know to use the parking lot for beach access is $15. Around $45 for dry camping. Free if you are a disabled veteran and have received the state park pass.
They are booked until Nov and you have to log on and keep trying to book 6 months ahead of time.
ReserveCalifornia.com is where you have to check availability and make reservation
Yes http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=27227
No wood burning is allowed, but you can use a portable propane fire.
They are usually booked up 6 months in advance but you can go online and check. The website is Reserve California
https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1023
Yes
Two days on the ReserveCalifornia website. If you're lucky, you might be able to book in person at the Ranger Station on the arrival date you are interested in if there is availability.
Yes
No open fires because you are there in the hillside (bluffs?) with dry brush. Bring your BBQ, because those ARE allowed.
I was just there a few weeks ago and I think its 45 for tent site
Yes but beach is closed
ReserveCalifornia.com for all state park camping reservations. Price depends on tent or rv site.
Check the parks website.. Most likely it is booked by now..
They are. They have a policy not to let you in or check in early, but the way they go about it when telling you is awful. They can kindly explain their policy without making you feel like it's not a place you want to go back to.
There are three parts to this park. Moro campground which is tent camping and primative hiking, crystal cove state park that has beach and trail access and crystal cove beach cottages you can rent. They are all connected but have different entrance points. Check out the state park website for more details.
Yes but keep checking back for cancellations. You will get them. Even if it's last minute. Check San Mateo campground in San Clemente/San onofre. They usually have spots available year round.
There are few big rig sites, you should give em a call in advance..
Only if its propane no wood fires
The website says alcohol is prohibited, except for certain circumstances. You might need a permit? I would call the park. http://www.crystalcovestatepark.org/alcohol-waiver-form/
What is your question? :D
No, if you want to go to the beach the reservation is only if you want to camping...
$35 per night for tent camping by the ocean.
There is place to fish in that area
Yes reservations are best we have got lucky a few times during off season n got a spot but summer is peak season
Reservecalifornia.com or u can google "reserve California " and make reservations over the phone
No, separate reservation than this which is the campground only
Yes, as far as I know. I do not believe it is a protected sanctuary. I've caught perch there but there are often lots of seaweed close to shore and will entangle your line.
The camp sites are above on a bluff overlooking the ocean/beach. You have to walk down a small hill and walk through a small tunnel to get to the beach. We typically drive down to the day parking area near the beach from our camp site to get to the beach.
I think it varies by season, but when we went this past mid August it was $68 per night
No, all State Parks have a limit of I believe 14 days consecutively. You will need to find a private park that offers long term stays. Most parks have a 30 day limit unless they are specially designated as a "full-time" park at which point the park may not be the nicest place to stay. Maybe consider finding someone who has property you can park on for the year, through Craigslist or something.
Campsite is only for campers but there's a day fee for the beach access
30 days is the max
I think it was about $7 to park there and when you go on the beach you can camp there you can only go there for the day and at a certain time I think about 10 they close the beach but I think there might be a campground close by I just not sure where it is but if you're there at the regular time of the day you can put a tent if you like
Just to reservation but if you go up during the week like 7 a.m. if they have a cancellation to let you camp I love that campground
Yes, every day a reservation is required. Sometimes you can get lucky and walk up to check if they have space but I wouldn't recommend it. ReserveAmerica is the website and then pick the correct campground you want to stay at!! :)
No campfires allowed.
Call crystal cove we paid daily
You need to have a reservation for all sites on the bluff- tent or rv. Look on the Reserve California website for prices and availability.
Why is not an answer for this one?
HB DOG BEACH OR NEWPORT BEACH DOG BEACH. you have to drive there. Not sure of anything closer to laguna.
Sorry i dont have a idea...
Early as possible. Great place to camp.
I believe the number is 8... but I know for certain it is not unlimited
You could primitive camp. There are many campsites that you can get together
Depends on the site. Visit the website and see what spaces are available
Definitely not but I'll tell you. If come, you better come early otherwise good luck finding a parking spot.
No sewer... but dump station...no long term stay...can reserve only seven nights at a time
They are allowed on the tent and RV sites. They must be on a leash no longer than 6' or in your tent or Rv at all times. They must be accompanied by their owner at all times. They're not allowed on the beach or trails.
No... this would be two separate reservations. At this point chances are very slim... I would check a few times a day and see if a cancellation comes up. You can cancel your other reservation 24 hours before your arrival date. Good luck
