In the time being here our roof leaked in and created a hole never got fixed. The first couple of months there was a monoxide poisoning leak and we got it lowered by the fire department (they explained two more days and we could have died in our sleep) and asked maintenance for a new monoxide detector as the other one didn’t work. They happily gave us a smoke detector… not the same thing. Along with that the second step from the outside staircase fell off due to it being rusted and I almost got a concussion. Julien pretty much said my bad. There has been encounters of drunk residents trying to break into my car and knock on my door. I have seen a woman poor gasoline on peoples doors and cars. Along with that being said there’s always police at the apartments searching for someone. The old manager Brisa was very much more helpful and the old maintenance crew at that. Also an important note as I was home sleeping the maintenance crew unlocked my door and came into the apartment without my permission. Lastly, prices went up from a 1 Bd being 620 to 780 I know two bedrooms at the 700 mark having a 1 bd for the poor quality apartment is not worth it

Place is trash. Buildings are old and repairs, if they tend to them are patch work at best. Slumlord attitude in this complex. Quick to bug for rent never around when it comes down to tenants needs. I could really go down a list of issues , complaints and activities at these apts. that could shut this place down . Not even as a last resort. Don't walk run tf away.

Beware future tenants. Read your contract!!! There is so much miscellaneous fine print in this contract that once you read it in full, it will deter you from ever renting at this place. Once you sign the lease, it is almost impossible to get out of it. Not to mention that there are no background checks so you may be stuck with some questionable characters. We saw this reflected every time an officer/s would show up to track someone down for drug related activity or to stop a domestic disturbance. These things are common occurrences so do not be surprised if you happen to see a cop car, an ambulance or a firetruck once a week. There is no respect for your neighbors. Tenants are always blasting their music and screaming in a family squabble. Someone lit the dumpsters twice when I was there. The laundry facility had to be closed down because of vandalism. They restricted the hours to mon-fri between 9-5 (which is when everyone is at work). The apartments are pretty run down. They just repaint and repaint and repaint but everything is so old and worn out. My leaky faucet did get replaced so I was glad about that. Repairs do get done but things are constantly falling apart or breaking down. It was very dirty when we moved in and smelly from pets that used to live there. Yes we put the carpet down in our inventory checklist but it was never addressed. There is always water shut off notices for repairs so you may not have water for an hour or two. The plumbing is so old, there was a very strong sewer smell coming from the bathroom sink (nothing they can do about it. It’s just old). The staff may or may not be at their offices. I always had a hard time seeing them in person. E-mail is your best way of communicating with them. They are nice people but they have to be because they deal with so many complaints. For a hundred dollars more you can find something better. Keep yourself and your family safe. I never felt safe living there.

The office manager Cynthia is very nice and there are no complaints about her. The rent is kinda affordable, however, there are a lot more apartments (Ex. The Veranda Apartments) that are also affordable, but the only utility bill you pay is electric. At Southview, you have to pay electric, water, gas AND they say cable is “free” but they charge you EVERY month for it. So basically you’re paying more than $700/month including utilities which is ridiculous because the apartments aren’t nice enough to be charging that much. Also, If you go with an outside cable provider, you are still required to pay the cable that southview charges monthly. We had a one bedroom apartment and it was ridiculously small and it wasn’t even nice enough to be worth what we paid monthly. We only moved in here because it was the only place that would move us in instantly when we needed it. We did end up regretting it. There was always weekly water shut offs which was a bit frustrating. The apartments do not have great amenities, only a tiny playground for children and a laundry room where only 2 of the washer machines worked which was extremely inconvenient. One of the few pros about living here is that it’s not too far from base if you are in the military. Also, when it comes to breaking lease due to military clause, you are still responsible for paying an extra months rent even though you won’t be there anymore which is a complete waste of money. My husband and I do not and will never recommend anyone to live here. We are glad that our lease is finally over, I hope this review helps whoever is thinking about living here and wants an honest review.
