Shoshone Falls Park is a beautifully maintained park along the Snake River in Idaho. The park has sweeping views of the Snake River Gorge and Shoshone Falls. The falls were particularly impressive when we were there because of recent rains. The park has loads of parking spots, loads of green grass with shade trees and picnic tables. There is an easy walk on pavement to see the Snake River Gorge and Shoshone Falls. There are plenty of restrooms as well. Do yourself a favor and give Shoshone Falls Park and Shoshone Falls a twirl, you will not be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please give me a thumbs-up 👍 Thank you!

5$ for a car. Wonderful sights! I can't get over the houses that are basically in the falls. Lots of information you could read. There's RV and Bus parking but the road to get down has some tight turns. There's a gift shop with a penny press! Enjoy your time here! :)

Shoshone Falls was quite the surprise for me! We were in town visiting some friends, so we decided to go check out the falls along the way. This is one of the only places I have ever seen a double rainbow in all my years of being in nature so that was a very nice surprise to see! The falls can get a little busy, but they weren't bad moving around and taking pictures. There are a number of birds that fly down near the falls as well so you can get some great shots with the double rainbow going over the falls. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Excellent Views!! Fun for everyone!! Incredible History!! The water wasn't flowing heavy yet! But it was real neat to see it in this state!! (Before they release the water!) Always Love to frequent this Magical place!! New views every time you go!!

There is a a green belt walkway that will take you along the canyon past the Evel Knievel jump site and to the Perrine Bridge
yep! Hope you have a nice trip there!

No room for RV parking. If you drive down to try, there is a turn around at the end. They have some side lane parking but the spaces are car sized. You would need to take up a couple.
On a leash....very hot make sure to bring plenty of hydration...
Dogs on leash, although it gets pretty crowded on weekends when the flows are good. There are signs at Dierkes Lake that say no dogs, but fine print says they are allowed on walking path around the lake.
Not from any angle I can remember, but I've only been there once so far
Yes , the closest viewing platform however only has stairs down to it but you can still get a wonderful view at the top of the stairs . The park had a long paved pathway that has many viewpoints that are fully accessible .
No cell service by falls. But u get service up the hill before u drive down
The website has a camera. you can check before you go.
$3 per car per day, you can get a season pass. The Hidden Lakes and Dierkes Lake are closed off right now for an undetermined amount of time!
I was there last wk but did not any sign for non drone zone . anyway check with the on duty person at ticket counter
It was awesome. You wont be disappointed
They do accept the National Park passing is not a National Park but they accept the National Park pass
There were quite a few dogs when we were there, on leashes. I don't think they are allowed at the lake.
I'm not quite sure about that option but maybe theres a possibility go ahead and call there contact number
Check google. We were there on a sunny weekday in september and site was ~25% full. $5/car entrance fee keeps out the riff raff.
Not a lot of walking is necessary. The falls are very accessable. It's definitely worth it.
You can definitely set up a tent near by, but not at the actual park.
Formed during the Pleistocene ice age about 14,000 years ago, Shoshone Falls marks the historical upper limit of fish migration (including salmon) in the Snake River, and was an important fishing and trading place for Native Americans. The falls were documented by Europeans as early as the 1840s; despite the isolated location, it became a tourist attraction starting in the 1860s.
There is a small waterfall on the way down to centennial Park that is accessible by foot. The only way to access the base of Shoshone falls would be to paddle upstream from centennial park, portage your canoe or kayak at pillar falls and paddle the rest of the way. If you are non athletic like me it will take 3 hours to get there. Wear sunscreen.
Yes, you can enter the park until 10 PM (the gates close and are locked at 10 sharp, it says so at the park), however before about 5:30 PM there is a 5 dollar vehicle fee, cash only. Long story short, the hours for entry are 6:00 AM to 10 PM, no exceptions. There are other falls nearby, and they are also beautiful. There are actually a couple that you can walk under. And those are open 24|7. Shoshone Falls does cost money until 5:30, however. Be warned
$5 dollars for the day. $25 for an annual pass. Up at the lake there is a good park.
Yes was there last week
We were there in July, great falls.
We did several years ago. Just booked a picnic. No one objected.
It may be a low water year so spring is the best time to visit
If I remember correctly. Its 7 am to 9 pm year round as long as the road conditions are not too bad.
Rocks, the water is diverted to irrigation canals right now...2 weeks...Personally I would go if you're in the area, if not go in springtime.
You could always look at weather.com for climate conditions (search for Twin Falls). But I can assure you that they don't turn the falls off in September.
Not that I'm aware of! There is just a lookout platform & hiking trails. You can't get close.
No problem for wheelchairs. Beautiful falls!
If you go up to where it says to the lake, there will be a park and a place to swim.
Nice place to visit in summer, May until July when the waterfalls are at their mere apogee, and I also recommend that you visit the ice caves is a very good experience you will not regret doing it
It is accessible
There are hiking trails there and it is easy hiking and very enjoyable!
No swimming at this particular area to see the falls. There is a lake near by. There are bbqs, so charcoal and meat/veggies to grill would work. We spent a few hours there, but not all day. It has a great grassy area and great views.
What activities can we do around if we stay a night. I have a 17 and 14 years boys and husband , would they enjoy a day there or any near place ?
Yes, google search the area, but don't think of pull a trailer to the falls. We watched a guy scrape his going around a sharp corner.
$3 per vehicle for the day to go into the Shoshone Falls and over to Dierkes with the Hidden Lakes. Twin Falls county offers a season pass if you plan to go more frequently!
Everything is about 5-10 miles away. Rock creek park is a pretty place in the canyon and inexpensive. Oregon Trail RV park has more ameties such as washer and dryer.
They are running right now... Take them
We showed up early and the pay station was closed but said $3 for admission
It does cost to see Shoshone Falls as it is a city park. You can only park and walk over to the overlooks. I don't know what it costs but it is probably $5.
I think any convenience store might have them, during the summer when the park is open they have a gift shop down by the falls
No, they should be open and its free till Memorial day
The last time I was there, they didn't have it running at it's full capacity.
What ??
I'm not aware of any kayaking, but a person in a wheelchair can definitely get a fantastic view of the falls! There's also at least one paved trail, I've never taken it before so I can't speak to the length of it or where it goes but I've seen bicyclists on it.
Does not have grill, but does have tables and huge grassy area across from falls.
