This little trail is a part of the South Mountain Trail system. It appears to start at Ray Road but there is no discernable trailhead with parking and facilities. The trail itself winds around residences following a creek and eventually joins with other bigger trails. There is a paved walk way south of the Ray Road that may be a part of this trail. There are 3 ponds on this section. You can see several species of ducks in the ponds in winter months.

An easy, less crowded spot to access the south side of South Mountain Park (especiallythe helipad and desert classic trails). There's definitely been an uptick in other people on the trail during the pandemic (along with all of Somo and every other park), but only time will tell if it lasts.

These trials are good for beginners. You can also find for challenging trails. It's beautiful

Nice hike that start easy and connect to other South Mountain trails. 40 min in the hike there is a nice area to sit and watch city lights at night.

I would stay in the dry washes that serve as drainage for runoff water that usually run parallel to the green belts which are permitted for walking I would avoid using metal detecting and digging anywhere on the South Mountain preserve.
