The location is right across from lake Isabella. The spots are mostly small, but that’s ok for my small family. Shade seems scarce but most spots had a little something Running water & restrooms decent (no soap or toilet paper the day we arrived) still fine because we always bring our own anyway. Camp host was super nice. Very helpful and friendly. There is a town a few miles out which is great if you need Ice, gas or food. Unfortunately, the guests around us were super rude. Loud music & partying until past 4 am. Not nice when you’re planning an early morning hike into Sequoia. Clearly the noise curfew (10pm-6am) isn’t enforced in the least.

I had a great time. But the restrooms are poorly taken care of. Mens rest room was a mess with the stall doors broken and a lack of toilet paper. They have also turned off the showers for some reason. The crowd is usually loud. Good thing is that the river is near by. If I ran that place i would definitely keep it in a nicer shape, hungry gulch is truly a gem in the wrong hands.

Had a great time. Beautiful campground and the couple acting as the camp hosts were very patient and helpful. A little more online explaining the check-in process would be helpful. If you are a light sleeper you might want to bring some ear plugs.

Awesome place to camp at! Beautiful view, great cellphone signal! On-site water in certain areas. Restrooms near by. Unfortunately showers not working during my visit that's why I gave it 4 stars!

No
It's not closed. I just came from there yesterday. There is no Rv hook up. But I did see some further up the river. The place is run down. I don't recommend the hungry gulch
Its right across the road we had no issues with parking our cars near the lake if you want a closer one it would be boulder gulch which is right across from hungry gulch.
Reservations are optional. But without a reservation you risk them being full and not having a camping spot open for you.
If u r camping on the outdoor. Just go and set up camp the park ranger will come by later that day to check your reservation and assign u a number
$28 per night if you have a senior or handicap forestry issued pass its half price
You will need to speak to the Ranger Station in Kernville. They can guide you.
