Beautiful spot ruined by the consistent amount of trash. It has been nothing but a loud party spot for many years. I came hoping to see better reviews. Don’t drink the water. Don’t go in the water. Don’t eat the fish. In fact. Don’t even go unless you’re homeless and desperate. It’s an ecological disaster and should be closed.

This is such a beautiful spot right by the river and it was an amazing spot to camp at. Pictured is all the trash we picked up at our campsite within 20 minutes of cleaning and it’s not even close to halfway picked up. The spot we stayed at was a 2 minute walk away from the dumpsters too. It is absolutely appalling someone would leave trash in such a wonderful, free camping spot WITH dumpsters and amenities provided. Do better. My friend Max has a wilderness cleaning and restoration service company and is willing to come and pick up the entire site if someone who runs/ owns this spot wants to reach out. Safety warning: watch for tons and tons of broken glass. Lastly, i hope the next person who sees this and comes to this spot will enjoy it and maybe pick up a couple bags of trash on their way out. And if you were one of the people who left an entire house full of garbage behind the rocks, I hope you learn what harmful effects trash like this has on wildlife and you do better next time.

Where's the GOLD?

I not sure. I went to look but it was too hot. I went back to Keysville and there's plenty of spots for kids to pan for gold. Trun on to the pavement and follow it to a restroom turnout area and go left to the camp grounds. Awesome place.
