@ PDX......I work in a high volume customer service position and understand the importance of perception. Immediately our concerns were shrugged off. The fix was not what was expected but we had already wasted 2 hours with the first vehicle and needed to get on our way. Upon return, was charged a fuel fee when we returned the car with a full tank and had to wait til the next day to call in and prove that we had already filled the vehicle. Was expecting more after the service that I've received in the past.

Don’t expect any help from Avis if you have trouble during your rental. We reserved a full sized SUV to move my daughter out of her dorm room then planned on a family road trip through the southwest back to Kansas City. The only car available was a mini-van (brand new with only 4 miles on it). Not big enough for our family of five and my daughters stuff but we didn’t have an alternative and decided to make it work. An hour after leaving Portland, we stopped for dinner. Throughout the meal, we could hear a car alarm blaring… it was our mini-van. We could not operate one of the slider doors - acting as if there was something in the way. We had to turn off the automatic doors and manually force it closed which then started a clicking and alert that the closed/locked door was ajar. Tried to call Avis - spent an hour looping through their automated system. We arrived in Eugene and realized if we locked the car, the alarm would blare after 30 seconds. Went to Avis in Eugene and they only had a sedan to switch us out to. We spent the next 8 days trying to enjoy our trip which involved time every day trying to call Avis and unloading the car completely at every stop since we could not lock the car… and hearing the “door ajar” chirp every 12 seconds while in motion. Sent emails to Avis customer service for someone to call us and advise. No calls received- response to go to the nearest Avis; but based on our route, these were 9-5pm locations and we would arrive in town after 7pm and needed to depart by 7am / tried to call ahead to see if they had a different car to swap out but ended up in the automated system / dead end again (which were out of the way). Finally bought tools and new routine was to unhook the battery every stop. Decided to cut our trip short and came home a couple days early.

Avis is always good Only thing is why every car I get has a dirty console? Coffee spils ketchup finger prints every where Dont they have an inside cleaner guy ? How was it during covid? Even then it was no different sorry but its true. You probably ha e to ,oom in to see it in the photos.

Avis was great! Not only was the price the best but the rental process was fast and easy. We were in our car and on our way in less than 10 minutes. We had to cut our stay short and needed to fly out of a different airport than where we picked the car up. I was able to make all the changes on the Avis App in a couple minutes. I would definitely try my best to use Avis in the future.

I did that last week with Budget. (Budget and Avis are the same company )So they had me drop the car off with Avis, which was located at the airport and open 24 hours.. I hope that helps you.

Call the AVIS 1-800 number unless you have the number at your destination. Unless all the vehicles are committed to another customer you should be able to make a change. There is the possibility the you may not get your desired vehicle.
Yes... advise of your intention to leave at another airport...should be no problem
Call customer service. They will direct you to the correct department that handles lost and found inquiries. Or, drop by your local Avis & they can call direct.

National, Alamo, and Enterprise all have rental locations near-by. Enterprise may allow you to leave it at the pier and pick it up.
