Is it ok to go here in the summer? Are there too many ticks and snakes?

Of the times we have been we have seen no snakes and brought home no ticks... and my son is a tick magnet. Use bug spray if you need to feel safe. This last time we went there were some large honest nests on the rocks faces along the trail. It's a nature preserve so you will come across nature and need to be vigilant in order to stay safe.

I go here more than i go grocery shopping haha, and I've only seen a hand full of snakes. Even then, they are always a good 5 meters out or greater. My daughter and i have yet to have a tick bite, but one time we did get a few chigger bites around the ankles. I'm only asuming those because the ankle area but we had like 2 bites each.

Seen a couple of snakes but they were only garners and a black snake. Definitely no ticks. They have a strict rule of staying on the trail so as long as you follow the rules im sure it is absolutely safe.

I'd recommend spraying some bug spray on your pants legs and shoes. I don't remember ever getting any ticks or chiggers here but it is a forest in oklahoma
