Absolutely wonderful place. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area. Great place to spend the day with family. Cost is low.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. It was completely empty when we arrived around 4pm August 16th. The lake was warm, there were cute frogs everywhere. Whole the place is definitely not kept up like it used to be but the showers and bathrooms work well and it's very peaceful. If you have the chance to stop definitely do!

It's nice to have a small lake near town. You can see eagles, foxes, water fowl and deer around the whole lake. The bathhouse is a neat old building, the swimming experience is kinda ruined for me.... Since a quit few water vipers have been seen and killed. But it's a pretty place to enjoy nature on the ground! 😉

Built by the WPA, in 1939, the restored Pawnee Bath House is once again the public "Swimmin' Hole". Lots of fun for local kids and visitors alike. Lifeguards are on duty for the safety of any swimmers.

I personally do not know but on Facebook we have a pawnee recreational lake website and if you could message her she will have the answers.
I believe that most parks and lakes are open this weekend. WALNUT CREEK STATE PARK is CLOSED due to debris blocking roads and large-size holes in the middle of a raod.
They allow birthday parties but not sure about the rules.
