Barber State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area

Beautiful place to hike the shady trails and great place to primitive camp right off the water. The pit toilets that are the male & female separated were cleaner than the single locking door one on the other side of the lake. So we sacrificed a bit of privacy for cleaner facility as there are no doors on those toilets. Overall great time spending 2 nights camping here and would recommend.

It's a really beautiful lake. Nice walking trails. There is a wooden plank that someone could get hurt on. I think someone should get it fixed. If a person was handicapped they wouldn't be able to get across. Other than that I think it's a good nature place.

Well maintained grounds, it was easy to find a spot to pitch my tent. Fire rings are around, and there was a nice table and awning that looks like it would do a great job with the afternoon sun. While flush toilets would have been nicer than the vault type, the restrooms were wellaintained, clean, and didn't stink. No showers, of course. I didn't spot any running potable water anywhere either.

Great place to camp, fish or hike. Nice trail to explore. Camping is better across the lake from the boat ramp.
