I was the only person there on July 4th midday. It was a good hike. The trail had some rocks, tree roots and a tiny bit of elevation gain and loss. It was worth the hike.

Free! First come, first serve campsites are free and are well maintained. Bathroom house was fine with a pit toilet and night light, bring your own sanitizer. The trail is a nice 4 to 4.25 mile loop that we really enjoyed. Several campsites along that trail also first come first serve with nice views of the lake in some cases. Roads are in good shape to get there. We'll go back.

This place is great to get away from the normal "campsite" camping. Beautiful views of the lake too!

Cool place. I hiked out about halfway along the main (blue) trail and found a great spot near the water and very far away from other campers. There is a big free campground that you could drive in to (no showers or lake) or you can go backcountry and hike in to one of the other campsites. Some things you should know. - The lake water is not potable. I boiled it and had no issues. - tons of seed ticks (the tiny ones you almost can't see) and some regular ticks too. - Trail has a lot of spider webs... Prepare to eat spider - the trail is in good condition and not too difficult - the lake is beautiful and definitely worth all the hassle

Verizon has pretty good signal here as well. Not sure if it is good enough to support a wifi hotspot.
Yes they are
Depends what all this rain has done to the roads. Only the last half mile is dirt but it could be very susceptible to being washed out
Yes it is.
We generally went into Lawrence, about 20 minutes away
Designated campsites all have fire rings. You can gather your own wood but you won't find any pre gathered.
Yes! Last time I camped there, we did tents and a hammock.
