Most national park service units have a local area 12-month pass for sale/accepted and a National 12 month pass for sale and accepted (American the Beautiful, $80). Wupatki's local pass is for Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Wupatki and costs $45. Info at www.nps.gov/wupa/planyourvisit/fees.htm If you JUST bought a 7 day pass to Grand Canyon or another national park unit bring it with you to Wupatki! If it is still valid, Wupatki can upgrade it to an annual America the Beautiful pass. And the best part is that Wupatki, a smaller park that collects way less money in fees, gets to use it locally to improve visitor services. And you get a pass to so many national parks, monuments, and forests around the country.
