Yes, but keep in mind the walk goes down and there are steps down at the end. You can get great views right from the visitors center area.
The Overlook Trail is easy to navigate. It's wide, open and isn't very long. I suggest going in a counterclockwise direction. It goes from the main overlook down to a small, well kept, overlook that gives a different perspective of the canyon. It can easily be done in sneakers and there are benches along the way if someone needs a rest. The other trail, The Turkey Path, that starts on the other side of the main overlook is much more difficult. That one goes to the bottom of the valley and back up.
The overlook trail? Or just the overlook? Never done the overlook trail, but I think it's rather short. The overlook is a really nice lookout spot right next to the welcome center
