A beautiful and scenic state park offering amazing views of the “PA Grand Canyon.” Colton Point State Park consists of over 360 acres of wooded and mountainous terrain on the Western rim of the Pine Creek Gorge. There are many activities to engage in at the park including hiking, fishing, hunting, and canoeing, rafting, and kayaking on Pine Creek. There are many vistas in the park as well as pavilions for picnics. There is also a small camping area with limited amenities. This is a beautiful area of PA with much to offer in the way of outdoor activities!

Always a great place to hike. Sometimes it’s rough to canoe! Always expect adversity! Enjoy the park!

The views are amazing here. Well worth the 3 hour drive my fiance and I took too go. Trails are nice too walk.

This is a nice and well maintained park. You can drive up to two of the lookouts. There is parking at each one of them. The views are breathtaking. There are several more lookouts if you walk along the Colton Point Canyon Rim Trail. So you know where to go be sure to grab a park map. THERE IS NO CELL PHONE SERVICE IN OR AROUND THIS PARK. Unfortunately I couldn’t found find a map in Colton Point but across the gorge at Leonard Harrison State Park I found one at the park entrance. Also, there is a restroom facility located just after the first lookout heading towards the loop (last lookout) They are glorified portapotty’s, in an actual building. No plumbing this high up on the mountain!

Woodpeckers, eagles, several hawks, lots of activity just within few feet of trail.
Didn't see any fishermen. Water in stream was fairly low due to several days without rain.
A little over a mile. About a mile and a half. Very steep.
The campground is opposite from the park. Instead of turning left into the park, you turn right. It's the standard state park rates for Pa. I believe it's $30 for a non electric site. Check on PA state park website.
Believe this is the old incinerator built by CCC camp.
