I think you are referring to a stone incinerator that was built by CCC during the Great Depression. It has not been maintained over the years nor is there any information at the site about it. See goo.gl/KG8NV for a photo.

There is none that I'm aware of. There is however near the Austin Dam ruins. The square holes in this structure appear to be a type of block or brick if you will...used for the construction of the Bayless Paper Mill. That is the only thing I can recall fitting your description.
