The lower part you can hike right on the River. If a Garter snake startled you, you might get the hickups.
I don't think there are any dangerous wild animals in this area...just birds? especially if youre hiking up Beacon Rock. When i went there were a lot of people who took their dogs.
I've hiked this trail like 20 times. when i was in good shape, i used to run it to the top. I've never seen anything but birds and squirrels.
If you were super lucky you might see a black bear or a cougar
Actual Fact: Bigfoot was apparently spotted very near there which prompted a new Skamania County law protecting him from hunters. It may even be a state law now.
Just Humans. Way safer than a city or a highway.
Two legged mammals and dogs are your biggest worry.
At the peak, we had a jay that kept circling the branches around us, hoping for some dropped crumbs. And a chipmunk or ground squirrel got kind of close to me while resting at the top. But the trail is well used, and probably an area large animals avoid during the day since there are quite a few people around.

No wild animals that I saw when I was hiking on Hamilton Mountain Trail.
