Dogs are allowed on a leash 6 feet or less and must be kept under control at all time. Owners must also pick up thier poop. Rangers will write tickets for both. Also, dogs are not allowed in the visitor center or inside the fort. They can be outside the fort, on the trails, and on the beach. If you have more questions call the visitor center or ask a ranger instead of the internet.

Yes, and no. Yes you can walk along the beach with your dog, no you can't enter fort Macon with a dog.

To be more specific. It is friendly for animals in the sense there ar designated areas, and the park rangers left all animal owners alone I watched. The area is paid for by tax payers so there aren't a lot of rules that can be implemented.

Dog are allowed any where inthe park except for the building and the actual civil war fort. There is a nice patio to wait with the dog while others explore the fort.
