Booked through booking.com. Tried to cancel, then property said they changed my dates but lied and didn’t. Would not speak to booking.com. And then blocked my number. Be careful they steal peoples money. Edit* Response to Owner. Booking.com told me that the dates were never changed. Also Booking.com tried contacting the Motel multiple times with no answer. And then the Sand Dollar Motel blocks my phone number! Very unprofessional!

The single room was a decent size with a TV, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and the bathroom was nice, especially the shower. The bed was super comfortable. It is only a five-minute walk to a public beach access, and it is close to lots of restaurants as well as Ft. Macon State Park. The owner was super friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an inexpensive stay.

You get what you pay for. The front desk associate was a very happy, funny, welcoming person who made me feel like she wanted to make my stay as wonderful as possible. Very helpful and answered all of my questions with a smile. The rooms are simple, clean and quiet. The beds are firm, not springy, and didnt sink in while laying on them. The area surrounding was quiet and the beach access at the end of the road was wonderful. This is a nice simple motel with one of the best prices for the area. If you dont want to break the bank than this is a wonderf place to stay.

Staff is... Well they try I guess their hardest with what they have to work with even tho it isn't much to work with. To start with the main door to the room didn't lock at all. The 2 stage smoke detector was wired in by what looks like a shade tree electricion and it didn't have a battery in it so it beeped until I put one in it. The beds were not comfortable at all the pillows were the cheapest they could find. Bedding was cheaper than the pillows fridge had rust on it. The room was not ready well after time of check in and house keeping left the bedding for us to put on ourselves like it's our house or job. Ac unit was located in the back bedroom so the front room was hot all the time. No real place to sit for anyone in the front room unless you sat in the two kitchen chairs they had in there to sit on. This is not what I thought it was and it is not a place for families to vacation at especially with kids of any age group. We will never be back
