They have a million board games (give or take 😉), outdoor chess, hiking trails, and its a relatively short drive to lazer tag, go karts, mini-golf, caves, etc. Their office has a ton of brochures outlining nearby activities. When we went, there was no cell service in the castle as well as no wifi available so keep that in mind.
Yes, plenty of board games for kids and the whole family. Also some great local places to explore, most notably Ash Cave and Old Man Cave. Lots of outdoor areas, so bundle up this time of year.
Our kids enjoyed it. They loved being in the loft of the huntsman lodge. We went to lake Tappan, went on the trails, and traveled to New Philedelphia to a park. The kids lived playing by the creek on the grounds of Ravenwood the most, though. And YES, board games were plentiful. There are bound to be some that would interest some of the kids.
Not a lot to do on premises at all. Just board games. When we went hiking trails were not maintained, couldn't even find them without really looking. About a 20 it 30 min drive to find things to do. Keep in mind no cell service at all at the castle. Not until you are about 20 min away from it. They do have a lot of brochures at the castle in things to do in the area
