how to clean tarnish from coils of sterling wire and sheet of various gauges that have been hanging in a shop for years ? i have tried dropping them in the pickle but that did nothing . I would like to clean this old stock so i can solder it well.

A fine sand paper and after wash with either steel wool, Scotch bright pad and an Ajax type product. That will clean it up but will take a while. That's what we used when I took metalsmiting in college

A really good idea Thomas... I wish I could suggest a solution for you, however there are none to be found. The design team or even the customer support folks who answer , will know a lot. Ive had good luck finding clues and It solutions from both Fire Mountain Gems and Beadaholique. They all couldnt be more helpful and seem experienced. If large supply co's dont know I guess you'll have to talk to a manufacturer .
