JJ sure has changed from what it used to be. When Dr Reynolds was alive, all people were treated equally. Now it's all about appearances. Before, everyone was welcomed. Now you're only welcomed if you join the program... people who don't join are practically shunned and are made to feel uncomfortable. Men aren't even allowed to stay there unless they join the program. I could go on, but you get the jist. Dr Reynolds would roll over in his grave. π’π’π’

Joy Junction was there when we needed them. But the staff is horribly rude(Sophia) and they treat everyone horrible. If you don't join "The Program" then you are of no use to them. The food is terrible, they use rotten vegetables when every day trucks deliver fresh fruit and vegetables. I don't know what they do with those because not once did we get fruit or vegetables that weren't nasty and spoiled. There are drugs and liquor everywhere. Heaven forbid we bring in outside food. They take it away. Have no idea what they do with it because you never see it again. If it wasn't for the staff being the rudest people ever, it would be really nice. Like I said, if you don't join The Program you don't exist as far as the staff is concerned, once again Sophia, being the worst one. I appreciate being able to stay there for a few days but I will sleep on the streets before I go there again. We were there because our car broke down and we needed a few days. We had a set back but we're on our feet once more. I wish I could speak to the CEO because she has no idea what is going on and how some people are treated.

I stayed at JJ for a month with my two kids and adult daughter. After leaving a abusive relationship. The food is barely edible. They force you to move rooms every morning which is traumatic for kids already going through stress and can't get in new room till 130-2pm. Which makes hard to have job during that time. Not allowed bring food but a few select foods in room to eat, nothing from a restaurant or good food from a store.( I can say they really helped when needed someone the most much better than safe house which kicked us out for adult daughter being in room alone while I unenroll daughters from school.) I appreciate what they did and kept us from sleeping in car for a month till we made way back to Texas. Thank you.

Joy Junction was there when I needed them at the last minute. No it may not be the best place, but when you're in need they will take you in. Sophia was really nice.

U just have to call family's with kids are priority
Yes and no, single men have a housing unit with beds, families with kids including single men with kids go into the large central auditorium and kind of camp out, then some families are transitioned to small apartments in another building. Same for single women and women with kids.
They aren't allowed to confirm or deny if anyone's there because they have domestic violence cases staying there...
You can do up to 8 hrs. at a time.
Yes single female can stay no animals are allowed unless service animal I think
You have to be at least 18 I think but you can call the office. Find out for sure
Anytime as long as the bathrooms are open and not being cleaned.
No they don't allow people to sleep in their vehicles.
I would definitely find out. Call them, im sure they will
Not that I know of, but you should be able to get a bed as long as you prove you're covid-19 negative, you can only go out once per week without prior arrangements, but they do serve food, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You also will have light chores, as well as you are not to be in the bunk or barracks area from 7am-3pm
Yes
If there don't even try to get ahold of me and might be able to figure something out
Just call the front Office if you haven't been here before they will send the van to pick you up
They will assist you with housing needs.
We've been told that there's a special unit and that the animal has to be house broken, but I would let staff know and maybe have a document doctor note.
Can homeless people stay at the shelter. Take medication
Can u plz have two other people answer me cuz u two keep telling me the same thing and that's not what i want. I want the info on asking for.
It's a shelter with a variety of people with many different reasons for being there. There's a program where you attend class for about two hours. You must be able to care for yourself and not depend on others aka getting off and on the mats. A van takes you into town and does pick you up at 4 pm. If single male you must call by 5:30 to make sure they have a bed. If family, call ahead and talk to staff. Three meals provided daily. It's a place to stay when needed.
Single males not allowed on property until 530 pm. Call ahead for a bed and put your name on the list. It fills up fast.
U have to check-in first come first serve limited space on single male
There's a van provided, if it's not crowded. The van as we know has a 4:45 drop off at healthcare for homeless and last van is at 8:30 morning.
Pick up for return to shelter is at Steele Bridges across from Good Shepherd at 2nd and Iron. First pickup is supposed to be at 4:00 but not always on time
When donations come in such as hygine diapers formula and other items as such, they are placed in Central supply and distributed as needed.
With permission from the office in advance
Yes ma'am, 3 squares a day. Breakfast at 7, lunch at noon and dinner at 5.
Husbands sleep seperate from wives amd children, but everyone is welcome.
They do not pick up and they do not take used mattresses.
