I would suggest taking the guided tours. It brings you places that private cars can't go. Plus the driver is so knowledgeable about all the animals and the center. My kids learned so much!
You'll be able to see some. Sometimes not the same types. It maybe too hot for some animals but not others.
It's mostly deer like animals along the trails. Some will come up and nibble the food from your hand. There were hundreds! Roadrunners, rhinos, giraffe, cheetahs, a goat petting zoo half way through. They have a diet for the animals of only 1 bag of food per car, so use it sparingly throughout your drive if you'd like to feed animals the entire time. At the very end there are some emus/ostrich and I would recommend rolling your windows up if you are. It ready for a big Bird to peck feed from your hand lol.
Almost everywhere you look you can see the different animals. There are a LOT! The only ones that were hard to see were the cheetahs because they were laying in the shade in the tall grass.
Went shortly after they opened for the day and didnt have enough food for all the animals that came up to my window. It was great
There are always animals around, but sometimes they are more active than others. Also depends on the weather and how much they have already been fed/out when you visit.
I have only ever done early mornings and they flock to you! 😁
You will always see some animals, even in the afternoon. Morning would be better but even afternoon time is fine for seeing the animals.
When it gets hot and they are full from snacks, they may not come up to the vehicle, but you'll see them.
